That sounds poor to me, Kiwi.. despite not being a parent myself I'm well aware of the sort of sacrifice you need to make and also what (to a kid) makes something even better. For example staying up later than usual to go on a show you love. It's like when you say to a kid "don't tell your mother" it instantly makes whatever you're about to do with them 10x better

I know she could make it happen if she really wanted to, although I do understand it would be an effort. She is very hard to break out of routine and do something on the fly, to the point I was getting like that too when with her. Luckily I have Jess who is as free spirited as they come and is breaking me from that conditioning.

I appreciate it's harder for her when she has the kids as she still works full time, where when I'm home the kids are my first priority and work doesn't get in the way. I get all my chores and appointments out of the way while they are at school and the weekends are for us to enjoy. She doesn't get that luxury. But I do believe there is a middle ground. If there had've been a show in another city I could make I was keen to fly us all there to go.

You've hit the nail on the head there - people are so hard to break out of routine. You at least tried and sadly it's her loss.

Could Jess take him or would that not be allowed?

She could and has already offered in principle, even though she would have to take a day, but she really understands Byron and knows what it would mean to him. Unfortunately my kids can't even mention Jess' name around the ex for fear of causing themselves issues (learnt from past experiences) and I know for a fact Nic would never allow it.

That's a truck or van done that I reckon. Too high for another car.

Turns out that it was neither a car or a van... It was a scooter. The chap that did it came and found me today. I'll be spending my weekend chasing after quotes now I suppose.

Good on that guy for letting you know. At least you can rest a little easier now as I'm guessing the other party are paying for the damage

Glad he came forward mate. Jeez it must have been a stack and a half to do that much damage!

he said he gave it too much throttle when he was turning in the car park space to go home and fell off/into the car trying to avoid it . He's only been riding a few months and i'm not sure he fully has the hang of it. Apparently he has fallen off a few times so far for seemingly no reason :)

and yeah, i gotta price everything up over this weekend and let him know.

Doh

Any least it's a fellow biker, but not good. He might need to go back to basics....

Best get your claim in pronto then R34PER, because to survive any time on two wheels out on the roads these days takes considerable skillz IMHO.

Maybe take him under your wing and teach him a thing of two!

Mind you my first bike was a scooter and I seemed to come off that thing almost weekly! 30 yrs later and still kicking! (and crashing (lol) )

I only crashed once on my scooter but once I had my 2 stroke 125 I crashed 5 times in 5 months. The last one put me in hospital and shut the road for an hour... ***touches wood*** haven't had a crash since being on a big bike for over 5 years
