Re: Ducati Superleggera Mk 2 - 215bhp
Didn't they claim 326 bhp for the H2R but dyno tests were getting 250 ish.
Ducati DOES have a solid reputation for producing what they quote in all fairness, which pretty much all the Japanese manufacturers could never say was true........at least not with a straight face

Re: Ducati Superleggera Mk 2 - 215bhp
The latest ZX10R gets 193bhp stock at the rear wheel with the Euro4 shit on it. Imagine a full system and remap - 200bhp???

First reports are the new SL is 10kg lighter than the previous one ( which is still the lightest production sportsbike ever made) and will have a carbon frame.

Impressive specs but everything about it is beyond me, including both wallet and ability.

But at least the tech and manufacturing know how on the top stuff comes down onto 'normal' bikes quite quickly with Ducati.

Probably about 5 years or less with Ducati... they seem to be the only people that really push the boat out though IMO

That's because they need to recoup the development costs at a quicker rate than the large bike brands.

Re: Ducati Superleggera Mk 2 - 215bhp
The way Ducati is run is very different from the Japanese companies. I don't think profit is at the top of the list when it comes when it comes to the decision makers.
The designs have to have the Ducati dna running through them otherwise they wont get to manufacturing stage.
Its why they have held off making a V4 sportsbike until as late as possible (its a certainty for 2018) as the 90 degree V twin is so much a part of what they are.

If profit is not a concern then how can they stay in business??
Aren't they still part of AUDI??

There have been a few times where they nearly weren't because of those reasons.D41 wrote:If profit is not a concern then how can they stay in business??

There is a more pragmatic approach these days but the underlying ethos is still the same - make bikes for enjoyment first and foremost.
