I haven't tried the M7RR and my reservation is although I've read lots of rave reviews they have all been from riders on bikes pumping out circa 120 bhp.

I have yet to read any review from a rider who has used them long term on a modern 200bhp litre bike and I don't want to be the guinea pig (blush) I know people rated the previous incarnation the M5 but they were horrible on my Blade (blush)

I m sure there are articles with journos testing them on a modern superbike but that's just 100miles in ideal conditions. I would rather hear from a modern 200bhp superbike owner who has put a few thousand miles on them in all conditions, road and track.

Anyone got that kind of info ????

They grip well and wear well with 120 bhp but can they deal with 200 smackers?

There not an OEM fitment or popular choice on 1299's, RSV4, Zx10r or R1 is that for a reason or just coincidence?

Do you expect someone like Metzeler to produce a tyre that can't cope with a modern sportsbike?

Are you a member of PB Mag forum? Loads of people are using them on there. These are all from people on 1000cc bikes or more:-

.I've gotM7RR 's currently on the k6 1000, they're fantastic tyres, warm up very quickly and better than the sportsmarts i had previously, although those were very good too. I also ran a sportsmart front with a roadsmart rear and that was a good combination on the road for a bit more longe...

7th or 8th trackday done on mym7rr 's last week, by the looks of them there's another 5 left in them too. With the exception of that last cadwell visit, they've always had warmers on between sessions, so that's about a dozen heat cycles. All of this is on top of the couple of thousand road miles. Y... Just had a pair of these arrive to go on my HP2 sport, for general hooning about & a track day at Donington in April

But if you've found a tyre you like and works for you, why change? Confidence is massive and if you (that's a generic you, not a Blade you) swap a tyre to a new brand and you're 100% sure before you use them, it's an uphill battle to get your head back to that level IMO

Good info Kwacky but could to do with more detail imo as hardly analytical saying they are good or warm up quick (facepalm) and some of those riders must be called Miss Daisy (giggle) the number of track days and mileage they can get out of one tyre, leads me to think they are hardly pushing it :?

Actually Kwacky if you were to buy a zx10r and run them tyres in Wales and at Track now that would be a good read (happy)

(facepalm) I can't win.

A quick google finds 1299, 1199, R1, S1000rr, Fireblade and Gixer Thou forums all talking about them. S1000rr riders are getting between 3,000 to 5,000 from a rear

I don't think the M7rr is the tyre to use on the track if you were running in the fast group this week and your tyres were working I would stick with what you've got and love.

I don't think Metzler would release a tyre not suitable for a modern sportsbike but it's all relative. What sector are they aiming at ?

As a recreational fast road and trackday rider on a modern 200bhp litre bike I'm not sure they are marketing this tyre for me. Perhaps they would suggest the Racetec RR K3 for my scenairo, I don't know tbh ????? And that's my problem I guess.

I want someone I know to test them and then read there opinion but totally agree alot of it can be in your head, of which I can definitely be guilty.

The Metzler site lists the K3, the Racetec and the M7rr as suitable for your bike. It does flag the first two as being crap in the wet.

Like you say, it depends on what you're doing with the bike. I wouldn't want to try the Z8s on the track.

Dunno. I am getting another bike. I have no idea what I'm getting but the current plan is to keep the SX and to buy something for the weekend. I want to see what is going to be on offer for 2017 and whether that means there are some 2016 bargains to be had. If, and it's a big if, I buy something cheap for the weekends then I might replace the SX. I've paid off the SX and I've got some money in the bank so I've got some flexibility, but Mrs Kwacky needs a new car

Why she can't use public transport and leave me alone to have two new bikes I'll never know 8)

Why don't you just spend the cash on 2 new bikes and then she can't be unreasonable (giggle)

I'll do you a deal. I'll buy the two new bikes and seeing as it was your idea, we'll do a wife swap for 3 months afterwards.

Then you can let me know if she was unreasonable or not (lol)

I totally agree with Kwacky and Nutz...what a fab tyre...I'd say better than the M5s, warm up quickly lovely lean angle even tried to spin the rear up but I didn't manage to do it!! M5s were good but these are something else!! Literally had all weathers today. Dry, hot, greasy all the way to sopping wet and they just held on without a problem and I got to a point of forgetting it was even wet!! Love Metzelers!!
