Sh1tting myself tbh. Not sure what happened as bit of a whirl wind but just found out I have kept my job and then possibly committed to buying a new house which is a big jump and double where we are now which also has the advantage of being mortgage free and freehold.

Wtf have I done (facepalm) feel a bit nervous about it all tbh :?

First off - good news about the job

Secondly - Mrs Kwacky and I have had frequent chats about this. We're in a small house, we can afford to move to bigger. But each time we agree we prefer having spare cash so the kids can do all their activities, have holidays, clothes etc. But if you want it and can afford it, then why the hell not?

Cheers Kwacky. We have been toying with moving for about 4 years now.

We have out grown our current house and have 2 jobs so it's affordable and hopefully I can be mortgage free in another 5 years if I see a good return on some shares nd investments I own.

Scary spending that amount of coin when your a tight bugger though, however we are far from over stretching ourselves as I like to play it safe.

Just hope the px value is fair as without such it's dead in the water. We could probably still afford it but that's not the point. I've worked hard to get mortgage free and made many improvements to our current home, so not prepared to give my current property away. I ve lived here 12 years and if I get back what we bought it for plus the home improvements costs I would be happy and call that fair, especially as we won't have seen any growth in 12 years in that scenario.

Whatever you and Mrs Kwacky decide hope it works out for you all. Money is important but I know your like me, family and happiness are more important.

Cheers for the comments about the job it is a huge relief.

Yep, we went for the latter. When our first was born Mrs Kwacky had a good job in recruitment. By the time our son was on his way I decided that it wasn't worth her doing long hours, leaving the kids all day in nursery. running around for her job and looking after 2 kids before and after work, so she now works part time for a local company. It's crap money but it's stress free and she's got time to spend with the kids. The only downside is me being out of the house 12 hours a day, 5 days a week. We might have another think about moving in a couple of years when Alex has started and settled down at secondary school.

We both agree that if we had a bigger house we would only fill it with more crap :D

I would love a garage though.

Very similar to us Kwacky. The wife had a very good job before we started a family and was being head hunted for promotiion at the London office but family comes first second and third every time so she jacked it in an went part time in a stress free less demanding role. The money was good in the original role but it's not everything and health and happiness of 4 people counts for alot more than any coin imo.

Filling a house full of crap us a good thing.............As long as bike related (y) haha

Good news on the job, Blade. You have kept Mrs Blade happy with her new house so now it's time you bought a new bike. It's only fair :D

Wondering why I have a bike to ride but no pump to put air in the motherfecking front tyre.

I think some bacon will help me feel a bit better.

That all sounds good fella - congrats on both fronts.

What you failed to mention is the garage. Are we going to have a new project thread :)

Tbh Mick, Ducati haven't phoned me back today and it may be for the best. I won't ride the bike much over winter and if we are moving house my insurance problem could go away, as I loose a Manchester post code so insurance premiums will drop considerably.

Might be better trying to get a deal come the near year ready for next spring.

It's a very dynamic plan on both bike and house front tbh. Got to see what the figures come back like and I don't want to get my hopes up. Will know more this time next week.

Although looking at houses for a while now, today's move was a bit of shocker and for us quite spontaneous :?

Just done a quote on Ducati insurance and getting £998 so actually worse than my owner broker as that's without the sp2 and just the Ducati on its own.

Old codger, bike garaged, alarmed, datatag, 18 years experience, 12 years NCB, clean lience where do they get the prices from when a zx10r is 200 quid :?

I'm not buying a Ducati if that's the coin for insurance. It's ridiculous. A £40000 Porsche 911 is only £400.

Wife is at work so I'm doing the usual taxi runs for the kids. If I get time I'll start looking for zx6r stuff to include with the sale.
