Re: Isle of Man - 9th to 11th September
Just out of curiosity, is this the sort of time of the year you always do the this trip?
My back to back has talked to me about a shift swap september next year which will result in me having a 9 week break (although prior to that I will be working 7 out of 9 weeks) and that break will be from late August through to mid October. So there is a good possibility I could convince the ex to have the kids for a couple of weeks in that break, enabling me to come over for a trip. I would have ideally liked to come over for the IOM TT but it doesn't line up well with my work roster. But the idea of hooning about with you lot has merit! One little chink is the plan is my boy and Jess both have birthdays in that first week of September..
I'd have to price it all up and look into bike hire etc but I definitely want to get over sooner than later. There is $8K packages for next years TT all inclusive so a TS trip should be a bit cheaper than that, which would make it quite doable.

It is usually this time. I can't do the first weekend as it's my wife's birthday.

don't get too excited yet, lot of ducks to lined up before it's possible, but if not next year I hope to in the next few.Itchy wrote:If Kiwi's coming I'll have no excuse!

Re: Isle of Man - 9th to 11th September
I'll take that
Going to be a busy evening tonight. I've got to bleed the rear brake, check and lube the chain, see if it still wants to play (had an issue last weekend with an engine warning light). Then I've got to find my back pack ..
Really looking forward to a couple of nights away

Re: Isle of Man - 9th to 11th September
The weather isn't looking too promising for tomorrow afternoon. Worst case is getting to the B&B then finding somewhere warm and dry to spend the afternoon. Saturday looks good, as does Sunday.
I'll check the weather reports in the morning before I make a final decision on leathers or textiles for the weekend. Preference is leathers.

Re: Isle of Man - 9th to 11th September
Looks like a bit of a storm is due to hit the IOM tomorrow afternoon. Hopefully we will have docked before it takes hold.
I'm wearing leathers and taking waterproofs with me.

That's probably what I'll go for.duke63 wrote:

We land about 2.00pm so hopefully we'll be off the boat for it kicks in. It's about 30 minutes from Douglas to Peel.
