Hey Mick, was showing my mate that did the 999/749 transplant bike your bike, and by chance he was looking at that gloss black subframe on eBay too but you bet him too it :D He wants to know if you what to sell the cracked one, he's happy to repair it.

Cracking summer ride home with the bike skipping about and the handlebars shaking. Great fun.

Yeah he can have it no problem, the frame itself is not cracked just the bracket that the seat bolts too.

Washed it, put on a new tank pad, new Stomp Grips then ACF50ed the F' out of it! Not going to touch it until maybe Sunday to allow all the adhesive to set and allow the ACF50 to do its creeping. I'm pretty sure the last owner never ACF50ed it as it was always locked up in a big shed and only rode in the summer time so it didn't really need it. It is looking amazing now though!

Plan is to take it out today, if it starts that is. I've not lifted the cover for a couple of months (blush)

It started first push of the button (happy)

It's parked outside under a cover and never on a trickle charger. It's not annoying me as when I start it it starts in limp home mode, turn it off and on again and it's fine. grr.

Managed to spank it round the south of the country for 5 or so hours :D

Nipped out for a little blast, ended up in a cafe at the Organic Farm, rude not to have a coffee and organic sponge cake, very nice :)
Not been here for ages, worth remembering for a future ride out. Needed to get some miles on the new rear tyre.

Fitted the new subframe, it had a slight twist in but it fitted ok and looks fine when on, only a small change but looks a lot better in black !!
I also have a spare tailpiece which is slightly different so fitted that as well !!

Took the 748 out for a run this morning. One of the best rides I have had this summer, quiet roads and really had some fun. Nice coffee and cake in Eccleshall. Some really decent roads round there if anyone wants a ride one Sunday morning.

When i got back i was shattered as had been concentrating and working hard on body position so had some lunch and an afternoon nap. :)

Top day!

Altered a bit to leave from Cosford rather than Kidderminster, but what a day!

165.2 miles of biking today. Awesome weather, some decent roads (A483 and A44 especially!!!) with a surprising lack of bank holiday traffic (and what bit there was was despatched without difficulty), only one weiner pulled out of a junction without looking but I'd clocked him long before (you know when you get that sixth sense that someone is about to do something stupid?) so it wasn't that big a problem, all in all a very pleasant day.

Stopped at Crossgates @ Llandrindod Wells, one or two bikes there, so I had a quick shufty. There were some nice ones but not nice enough to sway me from mine!!
I took a pic of them all but it's too big to upload, and I'm not fannying around sorting that out right now, I'm in the chippy waiting for a well-earned treat ( I don't know how it's well earned, it just feels it)!!!
