Well, rode to work today on them. Seemed ok. I didn't push too hard, but they gave no indication of needing running in first. The profile feels sportier than the Angel ST's which is good for dropping into corners, but will have to see how it affects longevity.

I cant say too much yet as only did 30 miles of commuting and I also I need to give the bike a bit of a going over before pushing too much. Relube the chain. etc. I cleaned up the brakes a little whilst they were off but pads are low so could do with replacements. Must remember to pump brakes after working on them. The first junction at the end of my room was a bit scarey as I didn't slow at first.

Metzeler do seem to be good from the off.

Did you have a 55 or a 50 profile?

Speed is a 55 profile. So the Angels were the same.

I've been quoted £250 a pair with a 190/55 rear (plus fitting).

I think that's where they will be. Seems pairs for new to market tyres are around that mark now.

They have been good so far. Wet, cold and greasy roads have not been an issue and feel better than the Angels in the dry.

Better update this.

A few hundred miles done now (not checked what actual number is). Still very impressed. They have mostly seen wet and cold greasy roads, but no issues what so ever.

Braked hard the other day and felt the ABS cut in on the front wheel in the wet which is the first time I've felt confident enough to brake that hard in the wet.

Seem grippy in the dry, but not really had that many dry days on them and then only during a commute. Already just a few mm from the edge of the tyre despite this.

Have you had chance to put many miles on these yet or have you been too busy living the high life in the States?

How are you getting on with these? I might try them when I need a new set in autumn.

Overall, I'd say they're the best tyre I've ever had.

I am getting on for 6000miles on them now, which has far exceeded any of my others, Pirelli Angel ST included.

They are faultless in the wet, yet still extremely capable in the dry. Not done a track day on them so I can't comment on hard use, but I would be very surprised if they didn't do well.

They are a little pricey, but considering the extra mileage I am getting, and the confidence in all conditions it is more than worth it.

I've rode in some torrential rain, and still found them very grippy.

Stupid gallery. Dunno why its flipped them. But anyway. As you can see for 6000miles of A road dual carraiage way mostly they haven't squared off too bad, and there's still a good amount of tread left.

Very impressed.

That's pretty impressive wear at 6,000 miles. I'm not sure what the weight difference is between our bikes but yours throws out more BHP and torque so I should get at least the same as you.

Think I'll go for these next. I reckon I'm due a set of new tyres by the end of September so the Roadtec will get me through winter.

Good review on them here http://44teeth.com/metzeler-roadtec-01-review/

I was going to put Angel GT's on the Multi when the current mismatched ones required it, but the 01's are going for the same price in Oz so I reckon I'll get these instead.

Thanks for the write up D6.

It's good to see my personal opinion isn't totally guff, and someone who tests stuff for a living agrees with all my points.

Hey D6, do you have the HWM rear or standard? Trying to work out which should be fitted to the Multi, they say the HVM is for heavier bikes but buggered if I can find a model specific designation. During my search it appears I'm not the only one.

I can't see HWM on the sidewall. It does show 75W after the tyre size if this helps.
