Best glove I ve ever owned including the £300+ Dainese Full Metal Racer which I didn't rate at all, just looked very good.
It was a bit of a spur of the moment purchase as they were a good price. The fit is excellent and they are great gloves but have been spoiled a bit by the kangaroo gloves.

I've also got the Held Phantoms, and they are cracking gloves and have been crash tested by myself - I was so impressed I ordered a replacement set immediately, proper vfm IMHO.

Re kangaroo leather kit prices: ages ago I picked up some info via the leathers place I use, apparently Kangaroo leather has a random fibre structure vs cow leather which has a more directional grain - it's easier to get a needle through the cow leather, plus if you want to make leathers with Kangaroo leather I was told they use special needles to prevent breakage. However, the random direction of fibres also helps with better abrasion resistance than the moo variety.

In addition to the higher manufacture costs, I was told the Aussie Government only exports a certain amount of Kangaroo leather per year in order to try and make companies set up facilities within Aus for manufacturing items using Kangaroo leather - due to the limited supply the price is/was artificially high, add in the higher manufacturing costs mentioned previously and you get the premium price on Kangaroo kit we see in the shops.

All this was as I said earlier years ago, things may have changed since then, but those were the reasons given by someone in the business of making leathers for bikers back then. Hth.

Iirc they serve the same purpose as rabbits do in this country mate.
They have about the same intelligence too apparently.
It totally undermined my enjoyment of Skippy, when I learned that. ;(

Rabbits won't rear up and knock you out though. I'll stick with Peter over Skippy.

So far the best purpose of them I've found is to make kangaroo steaks!

(wait) Whilst I love a good steak as much as the next man, surely the best purpose of kangaroo is actually (as already covered in this thread) to supply the optimum quality of leather for motorcycle kit.?
