Don't think its just the suspension. I test rode a standard bike last and that was very good too. The rider sits in this bike rather than on it and i'm sure that is part of it.kiwikrasher wrote:Is the handling down to the semi active suspension Duke?
If I get that Multi next week first purchase will be the Ohlins SCU to give me semi active. Read a bunch of reviews and every one raves about the mod.

Glad you are loving it regardless Duke, and thanks for prompting me to look at trading up.

Re: New bike day
Still can't get over how good the new bike is.
I rode up to Mallory to see Jon for a short time.
I do love those roads round there and we should have a Tankslap ride out that way one Sunday.

Re: New bike day - Ongoing Multi 1200 DVT review
Changed the heading to be an ongoing review.
Finally got the app to work today. It connects to the bike via Bluetooth and gives details of ride routes and various info including max lean angle. Got the bike to 34 degrees today - Must try harder.
It also states max hp used on the ride which was 78bhp.
All interesting stuff.

Thats clever - it's got GPS built into the multi or does the phone monitor the route etc?duke63 wrote:Changed the heading to be an ongoing review.

Not really sure. I know it uses the gyros? For lean angle which are used for cornering ABS and the semi active suspension. Will have to read up a bit more.

I know the 1299 Panigale has much of this built into the dash but with the Multi its a separate app which i downloaded onto my phone.
It even shows me where on the ride i was at max of lean angle, bhp and speed.

No i am aware i need to be careful with it. It has to be started each time the bike is started to work.

Re: New bike day - Ongoing Multi 1200 DVT review
A few photos taken today. Bike is booked in for oil change on Thursday so need to get it up to the 625 miles mark.
Bizarrely when you start the bike up from cold its very loud , as loud as if not louder than the 748 and shakes the ground, but then quietens down after about 30 seconds to a more normal tickover. Must be some sort of marketing ploy as it sounds awesome.

The new design is pretty sharp. They've done well to make a very good bike even better.

I don't know why but I actually really like this bike... I don't think I could bring myself to actually buy one though.
It would be like me buying a Jaguar S-type, it's not right for my age
