Thanks everyone, had a quiet birthday working in Feltham W.London and had an East European chippie lock my keys in my van on site. It made for an interesting day, however I dodged the tropical rainstorm and managed to get a couple of large G&T's in during the evening as well! I shall be thoroughly spoilt this weekend according to Mrs Gee and will be cracking open the bottle of Monkey 47 I was given at some point tomorrow evening. Btw I don't share that one with anyone. ;)

Tbh it's in a Gang of Four quality gins in my drinks cabinet, the other three being Hendricks, Adnams Copper House and Berry Bros No3, all four are very different, but the Monkey 47 is probably the most complex flavour out of the lot. The first three are best with Fevertree tonic Imho, but the No3 is quite simply the best Martini gin I've ever tasted and is bought especially for that purpose, very nice indeed, just a dash of Cocchi Americano gives the perfect martini every time. (d)

P.S. any and all suggestions for new gins gladly accepted!

My new lass Jess spent a year in Finland on exchange in her late teens, and as such is still close friends with a kiwi girl she was on exchange with, who as it happens married a Fin who has move to NZ with her. Jess was over for their wedding last year and he had brought back some gin from Finland. Now Jess is more of a gin snob that me and she said it was the best she's ever tasted. It has won plenty of awards apparently. It's called Napue http://www.kyrodistillery.com/products

We have been trying to get it here but with no luck, only way is through internet sellers in the UK, but ends up being very expensive. I'm sure you could get it a lot easier. Be keen to see what you thought.

Another great gin I've had recently is a kiwi one call LIghthouse http://www.lighthousegin.co.nz/ its got a good citrus note (which from reading the Monkey has) so might be up your alley. Not sure how hard it is to get in UK, but maybe we might have to sort out a mutual international gin trade at some point (nod)

Other than Hendricks, I pretty much only drink small batch gin now, must be getting old, I value quality over getting smashed.
