That's got to be nerve wracking! Hope it all works out Ok mateD6Nutz wrote:Sat round the neighbours.
Got evacuated from our house at 6am, or other neighbours had a fire. 2 fire engines in attendance and they are now waiting for the gas board to come and check the gas main out.

Cheers guys, all for sorted very quickly really. Fire crews did an incredible job, really impressive to watch really. Saw the damage to the garage, they where very lucky and it was only the fat response of the fire crews that stopped the fire spreading.

Done a spot of gardening today. Not my usual forte but found it therapeutic. My garden waste wheelie bin is now full until Tuesday so I'll crack on then.

I've spent a lot of the day communicating with bloody solicitors, so I'm REALLY ready for the pub.

True. It could have been worse. I didn't have any clients to deal with today

Had to give a very short and barely stammered-out speech to a room full of bored people....the odd thought of "Where's my lines, cue cards. etc.??" might have crossed my mind one-or-twice (it did!). Sucked.

Re: What are you doing today ??
Birthday fun with my little girl.
I blew up 20 balloons and had the kitchen/family room covered in them and had the breakfast bar set with party hats and smarties.
And then had banana pancakes and hot chocolates after present opening.
Then out to lunch at her favourite pub which had an outdoor climbing wall and cool playground. I invited the grandparents along (still get on fine with them) and the ex turned up for an hour. (She'd already taken the kids out on Friday night for a birthday meal)
Then home to do a few hours of craft projects she'd got as pressies.
It was a good day, I've missed her last two being offshore so really enjoyed spoiling her today.

Re: What are you doing today ??
Proper job Kiwi, I've missed birthdays and valentines days in the past due to being stuck in a far flung hotel somewhere, it's never the same phoning on kids birthdays and as a Dad I always felt like I was letting them down somehow - I wasn't that was just the job I do, but it felt rough at the time. Hope you both have had a great day and have made up for those offshore ones!

I saw them a couple of years back at Hyde Park, they were awesome and really stole the show from the headliners, they played the crowd as much as their instruments and as showmen were in a class of their own.DaytonAndy wrote:Yesterday but went to see Status Quo- they've still got it!

Limping/crawling laps around the sports field while watching college girls play a soccer match.
I swear....one of the players looked like a lad, which got me thinking a bit, so I asked a coach and he told me that yes, it was indeed a lad playing (scrawny fecker)....but it made sense really....better to have one lad playing and everyone else gets to play too, or otherwise they all go home. I like that methodology.....seem to remember seeing it before over there.
