Re: What are you doing today ??
Today has been mainly spent gardening, man style
Removing a wall, which today involved a 10 inch diamond disk cutter, and a diamond tipped concrete breaker. Damn good job the neighbours where bit out today.

Re: What are you doing today ??
Kids are doing home work with their mam. I ve finished washing everything I own and tidied the garden so enjoying a cheeky beer in the garden reading a bike mag in the sunshine.
Barbecue for tea, game of football with my lads and a couple of their mates organised for after tea on playing fields and then watch wsbk supersport race and NW200 tonight.
Work tomorrow so tidying up and enjoying a little playing whilst I can

I can hardly imagine how difficult it would be to sleep 45/48 hours, & then go to bed to sleep again.!

Finding out that jogging frickin' sucks massive elephant dicks.
I'm knackered.....mothereffin' hip started acting up almost immediately. I'm going to let it rest for a few hours then try and give it another go....think I managed about 3 miles total, with a break to do some sit-ups & stuff halfway through.

Re: What are you doing today ??
Been looking at a job in a food factory, or should I say abattoir.....I had to play dodgems with pigs on a line, dripping blood all over my back.....Yuk!
Getting the hairs burnt off, then gutted and all the bits hanging out...and truck after truck arriving with the live ones.
No way in a million years would I do this job
Went in with whites, came out with red polkadots jacket.
And the smell, oh my it's still in my nose and mouth

Re: What are you doing today ??
I feel for you Frankie, one of the more surreal episodes in my life was attending a breakdown in an abattoir at Wratting in Cambs/Suffolk border, blokes in blood-soaked whites playing footy during their break while pigs were screaming and squealing in the background. Bizarro in the extreme. Fwiw, I threw my overalls and clothes away afterwards due to the pong. Disgusting.
I was enjoying the sun in Suffolk today sorting out a problem on one of our machines and advising on a problem on one of my previous companies machines, sadly although it had a fault, the biggest problem lay in the nut holding the wheel.

I had to spend a lot of time at a well known chicken meal producer. I couldn't eat chicken for weeks because of the smell of the place.

Re: What are you doing today ??
I'm with you there Perkles, when I was looking for job opportunities on my impending release from the Air Force, I got shortlisted for a job as a Maintenance Supervisor at a major pet food factory. The job sounded great and the offer was a good step up from my military package, but on a site visit I was nearly puking from the smell. Just couldn't do it and took myself out of the running.Perkles wrote: I quoted a job in a factory that made the cheapest dog food on the market it was rank, the smell lingered with me for days

Re: What are you doing today ??
Yep....for years I worked next to a food processing place....the fetid stench left a lot to be desired. You know you're in trouble when the people working on the 'food' are wearing breathing apparatus.

Re: What are you doing today ??
Me and my mate use to work about a mile from an abattoir and would pass it on a drive into work every day.
On early shift we used to pop in and get a bacon roll out of their canteen. Best Bacon buttie ever

Sat round the neighbours.
Got evacuated from our house at 6am, or other neighbours had a fire. 2 fire engines in attendance and they are now waiting for the gas board to come and check the gas main out.
