It's time for a bike change - Cornish is on the hunt again..

Hey guys I've noticed that the rear brake is as solid as a brick on be pedal and doesn't really bite the disc to slow me down.

Having come from the MT-09 which rear brake was mega I've got used to using it at junctions etc.

Anyone else experienced this?
Got any suggestions?
Is it a brake bleed job?

Maybe the guy put sintered pads in the back?!

Also, the rear is terrible on my zx6r and I never ever use it unless stationary to be honest. The rear would have been better on the MT09 because of the softer suspension and having more weight over the rear - I found the same going from a supermoto to a sport bike

Like Cav I find the rear on the zx6r to be pretty poor. I only use it to hold the bike at junctions/lights etc. It does enough to hold the bike.

Is there much travel in the brake pedal?

I was surprised how poor the rear brake is on the ZX6, and don't use it at all now. On the Daytona I used the rear every time I braked.

Yup, agreed guys, it holds on a stop no problem.

I'll check the pads in case too, any recommendations on that front?

There is play in the pedal which leads me to thinking its the pads not the system.

Bendix MA for the rear. Soft enough for road use and not grabby.

My peddle travel is about 1.5 to 2 inches and figured it just needed bleeding, but by the sounds of it "it's they all do that Sir"

It put a steel hose on but that's more for looks than effect. There is less travel in the pedal now.

I found my rearsets massively changed the behaviour of my rear brake so now it just locks up whenever I touch it

I may give the brake a good clean then and service, see if that helps somewhat...haven't decided on rearsets yet mind you

I've put braided lines on mine and thought I had not bleed the rear up right but I've done it 2 times now and flushed loads of fluid through and its CRAP going to have another look at it but i don't really use the back brake why ive been in no rush.

As for pads, at 28000 miles I have the originals in the back... I clearly use it a lot!

As Kwacky said, get your standard, non-sintered, pads - maybe even organic as they work at their best at remarkably low temps

Well a mad bid on eBay and a new sensor purchased means I'm the proud owner of a soon to be fitted Healtech I-qse1 QS this weekend. I'm sure it's as simple as the instruction video to fit.

Well after 3.5 hours dismantling the bike we managed to fit the Healtech QS. It was just time consuming and pragmatic yet fun knowing more about the bike. Haven't played with it yet as ran out of time but popped it up on the stands and ran it through and all is well. Haven't worked on the app either yet will update when I do.

On that point anyone got anything different to the std ones they use they'd recommend?

Discovered someone had busted the tank fairing plastic bracket on one side and missed off a grommet from it to; not happy. Yet Jordan Bikes have ordered them for me and been excellent about it.

standard kill times are too big for the healtech. I just copied the ones from lambchops video and changed the kill to suit our rev range that seems to work fine but there is still some room for improvement i think. Just not had the time.
