'Dead'...the artist formerly known as Prince.

Great musician...took the 'less is more' approach to genius levels...and a seriously under-rated guitarist.

Like Rossgo I was never much of a fan of his music apart from "Beret" & "Corvette", but that guitar solo above is a cracker - he actually seems to be enjoying himself as well, I didn't see many pics of him smiling which is sad considering his success.

He was a very unusual guy....only ate on alternate days of the week.....strict vegan IIRC...banged just about every lass who ever worked for him...or that was the rumour...but was also keen to promote new artists/musicians who he'd worked with....which is common in the business, but not as much as it should be.
Interesting comment about him smiling DG.....I'm thinking he's prolly like most in the industry....they're not usually a really happy bunch...everything is work/career oriented, with loads of hangers-on pushing them and depending on them.
Figure on a standard industry contract for music, you're looking at about 12-15 points of gross...a top-end guy like Prince may be at around 20 points or even a bit more....which basically means 80% of gross goes straight back to the label, and out of what is left his manager would take about 20%, then everyone else has to get paid...which is prolly why he played all his own studio instruments, lol!
AND....it's a pretty secluded lifestyle...you can't go anywhere without being mobbed/recognised/photographed etc.
It's not all it's cracked up to be.
