Fecking cyclists who ride round in stupid logo clad lycra, 3 abreast on a narrow county lane, flapping their gums rather than concentrating, the have the fecking nerve to signal like I should slow down. I was only doing 35mph at the time !!

If you want to ride a bike, grow the feck up, grow a pair, and get off road.

Wankers !!!

2-3 abreast lets them be the 'width' of a car....which is effectively what you're dealing with most of the time anyway...granted they're slower, but they're also very vulnerable as a result...you ride single file in lanes or canyon roads etc. and you're at the very bottom of the food chain...you just don't 'register' much with a drivers' attention...or lack thereof.

Lycra rocks!!!

I'm with Nutz, I rode a lot for years on the roads around NZ and I always did my best to give cars a way past. I have no problem them riding abreast on a quiet road, but when a car comes have the sense to drop back to file so they can get past. Also cyclists that as doing 15 mph chin wagging are oxygen thieves, if you riding get on with it and leave the chit chat for the cafe!

When I rode the Lake Taupo Classic in NZ I ended up in a group of about 40 riders for 40 km, we all stayed single file and drafted, with the leader dropping off to the back every minute, bloody efficient way to ride I tell you!

They are 'oxygen thieves'??? Who owns the oxygen?? No-one told me about this....I musta stolen tons of this stuff over the years! (-Don't answer that!)

I figure when I'm on a bike, I have a motor sitting right underneath me....when I'm on a bicycle, 'I' am the motor!!
An older model in need of a retune perhaps....but it still runs...for now.

BUT....aren't they taken in order of 'perceived threat to their health' or something??

I know that here if you walk in and say "I'm feeling a bit suicidal this morning" they don't tell you to wait in line...but it would be great if they did. In fact, I'm sure that this happened somewhere.....EVERYONE was 'suicidal' just to get bumped up the line....happened at a hospital in LA a few years ago....forget which one.

OK...then humor me.....what EXACTLY constitutes an 'emergency'??

Most people have no idea how to treat even a minor ailment...they're not really there just to have fun...at least I hope not.
They're there because they don't know what else to do. They pay taxes for a national health system but aren't allowed to use it?? Then why pay for it??
The staff get paid whether they treat someone or not...is it not better that they do something beneficial other than sit around hoping that someone gets really super-duper sick so they can get a bit of practice in??

well its not a headache or tummy ache thats for sure they have 24 hour walk in centres for that ,its clearly spelt out on a large tv monitor and various signs in the A&E waiting room but the feckless nitwits still bung up the waiting time by demanding to see a nurser or doctor. The on duty consultant came out last night to ask everybody to calm down and if they had a minor aliment to please leave and go and see their GP.People were shouting at the poor receptionist last night and it wasnt funny :( sorry but it made my blood boil and I felt sorry for all of the staff

In that situation it would have been too late anyway. Poor example.

It's a great example...if maybe a bit extreme. As I wrote earlier...people don't know what to do in a situation like that and they have to err on the side of safety....I'd rather take my kid in and know he'll get treated rather than sit around and hope that everything is OK.
And as Perkles wrote...it's written on a TV monitor INSIDE the building...yep - I'm going to take my kid inside a hospital and then watch a TV that tells me to take him somewhere else??
Why, when I'm already there...why would anyone do that?? I'm not saying it's right...just saying that most people are not that clued in on such matters...if they were, then we wouldn't be discussing it.
