I've had this cold for 3 weeks. Sunday was spent mostly in bed as it wiped me out again. This morning I was hacking my guts up. My throat is dry and I sound like a Caucasian Barry White.

I know how you feel, my cold has developed into a persistent stomach and backache, tbh I'd rather just have the cold. I looked at the top 3 things that make a cold worse - exhaustion, being cold and thirsty, I hit all of them on Thursday last week. I hate being ill.

Well today is settlement day. I'll be close to a mill AU$ in debt once it goes through, but on the flip side be sole owner of two properties.

Our equity worked out reasonably evenly and I'm happy that she will be in a comfortable financial position going forward (although she's still not entirely happy about it (facepalm) ).

And the final step has been started, found out yesterday she has secured a rental as of end of next month, so I'm giving notice to vacate the cabin the day before I head to work, and when I get back 'my' house will be vacant and ready for me to move back into.

I'm going to need a place to bunk down for a couple of days either side of work while I sort it all out but luckily I know some one that is happy to offer me a spot. ;)

Nearly there!!

Awesome stuff, Kiwi! I know very little about your situation but I know from playing Monopoly that $1m is a lot of money.

Does sound like things are looking brighter at the minute though - chuffed for you, bud! :)

It's only Monopoly money compared to your pound (lol) (lol)

The mortgage amount doesn't bother me as I have plenty of equity in the properties and in the end that's what it is all about. I just wanted to keep the house for my kids and keep them in the area so they could stay at the same school. Plus it's bloody peaceful up there so worth the coin.

I can now completely take over the double garage!!! And as its internal access I can work on the bikes in the evenings once the kids are in bed.

I'm definitely feeling happier than I have in years.

Been to the chemists to get something for this cough and cold. He's told me it's a chest infection so I need to go to the doctor.

Can't get in to see the doctor. Fully booked today and you can't book for tomorrow.

It's actually pretty good. Not nearly as dry as you'd think from the cover.

I have just got back from the Hospital

I have to have an ECG heart monitor strapped to me for 24 hours. I have not had it on 2 hours yet and already it is irritating the hell out of me

Even worse, I cannot take a shower with it on, and I am not allowed to remove it. Roll on 1.30 tomorrow afternoon, I know what my first job will be.

I suffered a silent heart atack about 15 months ago, and then last summer I spent 5 weeks in Hospital. I was diagnosed and suffer from Cardiomyopathy which is heart failure and is different from a heart atack, as the heart failure is for life.

I had 28kg of fluid drained from my lungs, legs and ankles.

So, apart from having to take all sorts of tablets, keep my blood thin, beta blockers, pills to strengthen my heart, I also have to undergo all sorts of monitoring and tests, and the ECG monitor is just one of those tests.
