Sports touring tyre test

Post by duke63 »

It seems the new Metzeler Roadtec tyre is all the tyre you would ever need.

Fair comment. But I don't need to replace my Rizoma stuff every 4 to 5 months ;)

Fair point! I know you don't scrimp on tyres anyway.

The Roadtecs are currently £257 at Addisons but he said Pirelli are doing a £30 rebate offer at the moment. However they haven't yet had 190/55 rears into the UK.

That is very interesting stuff. Great the tester did it blind to make it a fair test. The top 2 sound like great tyres

My Tyres came last, but they are the best non sports tyre I have ever ridden on ha ha
As for his comment about making the RS 1200 feel like an S1000 RR what a load of pony! Ha ha ha ha it would need more than tyres to make that thing feel like that.

He does say that the tests were very close. I know that the PR4s are very popular.

I'm liking the Z8s on the SX, they seem to suit it. I'm getting decent mileage from them as well or though they are starting to square off but that's no surprise of 4,000 miles winter riding.
