For purposes of comparison?....re. cost of removing them from the main event??....not 'cost' per se...the reconfiguring, etc.

They're bolt on so it won't cost anything to remove them.

Kinda what I wrote...not the intrinsic cost of two pieces of plastic...they'd surely have to figure things differently insofar as how the bikes handled...whether it would be better or worse it would still be different, and take time to figure out new settings etc.
I still like them, I think they look uber cool and will make you faster.
BUT...you make a good point....ban them and it's still an equal playing field for everyone.

I believe there is a control winglet for motogp next year.
