Is it a question of; "the more you learn, the more you realise how little you know".
IMHO when we're young we "know what we know", and are keen to inform others. As time goes on our viewpoint is corrected, and consequently our eagerness to proclaim our views before exploring other views diminishes. Fwiw I have seen a huge change in your online persona since I read your first posts back in 2012, and as an improvement in every respect IMO.
If that is correct, then apparently the trick is to be able to change whilst maintaining your ability for fun. Children seem to help greatly in that respect*.
( *parents on here may be able to advise on the validity of that observation).

I've been wondering about that; Is there a thought process behind your choice of username K9.?

I like dags.

Also, I thought the little robot dog dude was quite cool when he first appeared on telly, so it became one of my online identities, and gradually, it has become the de facto one.

I'm a different person depending on the situation.. If the time calls for me to be a suck up, I'll suck up. If I need to be comforting, I'll be comforting..

...If there's a time where I can truly be myself then I'm typically so sarcastic no one knows i'm joking. I'm a wind-up merchant who will banter with anyone but I'm also a family man with morals - although my search history will have you believe otherwise.

In terms of the internet I'm exactly like my normal self although I have the opportunity to comb over what I say and make sure it's saying what I want to say so I don't dig myself a hole
