Very true Duke63. Please don't misunderstand me; I am undeniably utterly & entirely hypocritical (that applies to a large proportion of my posts, a fact of which I'm fairly confident you are well aware mate ;) )
Nonetheless my own moral limitations do not necessarily undermine the integrity of my stated opinion IMHO.?

No sympathy here.
I've got to admit that was my first thought. Anyone could have been walking there and he had little to no control of that bike. While I'm sure we all ride too quickly at times he looked to be in a little village and I can only assume he didn't know the roads as he was a long long way from making that corner. Very little sympathy from me either. Better he hurt himself than anyone else.

I wonder if some people play up for the camera? You can be sure some people push themselves for the YouTube likes

The other thing that stands out to me is his riding position, looks like he's well back on the seat, straight stiff arms, never going to have good control of a bike like that.

But way to fast for his ability and the situation.

Wasn't a comment specifically aimed at anyone in particular, St Marks, but we as bikers are not generally top of the pile for sticking to speed limits.

Its very easy to be critical of other road users, and I have to say bikers are probably some of the worst in this respect probably due to our vulnerability, but we are far from whiter than white when it comes to sticking to certain rules of the road.

He stopped pretty quick given the speed, got to have been in the triple figures. I'm sure I've done worse, but it's pretty dumb going past those houses and driveways at those sort of speeds.

Even bigger dumb ass for putting it on Facebook.

Watches it again and there is a chevron warning sign but tnh its positioned badly to the extent you only really see it once upon the bend.

However saying that the left hander doesn't look too extreme and if he hadn't bottled it I see no reason why he couldn't have navigated it successfully.

I would imagine the rider is inexperienced and as already mentioned is clearly travelling too fast as is obvious to all.

From what I'm told he knows the road. He's blaming the accident on gravel. Well if he knows the road what's he doing at that speed and where's his road positioning for it?

Obvs going too fast, looks like the chevrons took him by surprise. He got in two minds which way to go, decided to go right but realised he'd possibly be heading into on coming traffic.

He's a lucky boy hitting a wall at the speed and just having a broken hip but to break your hip you have to hit it hard. Guessing he will be in a bit of pain for the rest of his life.
"80mph" sorry officer I possibly could not have done that I'm no Valentino Rossi.
