I did Ten grands worth of damage to zx6r I had owned for a few months.

They got the helicopter out for me but my arm was too badly bashed up for me to be put in the stretcher. I flipped the bike tail over nose with me on top.

Broken hand, wrist, arm and ankle. Covered in bruises. I lost the use of my right shoulder for a while. I've got a titanium rod and screws in the humerus and shoulder. I was determined to get back on a bike within 12 months, which I did. I went out on the road a couple of times then did the Chris Walker Kawasaki Race school with Ben Wilson. Doing 1.05s in the wet at Mallory trying to keep up with Ben was one way to get my confidence back :D

I have to say I had tremendous support from the people on this site.

Shut the front door...

Sounds nasty. Are you back to full fitness now then?

A mate of mine in Fast Group was doing 1.01 at Mallory in the Dry I think so a 1.05 in the wet seems bloody quick to me !! I just googled Ben Wilson, that guy is quick.

I think I'll do one of those when I don't seem to be getting any quicker.

Word of advice, stick to the tarmac on a road bike - they cope a little better! ;)

The track was drying and I was having fun :D My wife on the other hand was having kittens as photos of me on the track started appearing on Facebook :D

The shoulder and arm are a little weak. It's been a real struggle to put muscle back on, but I've got full range of movement which was my biggest fear of losing.

This is the bike I smashed up:-

Ahaa, my girlfriend likes watching me work my way through the riders but doesn't like watching me go fast. At Pembrey they were stood at the fastest corner on the track (approx 130mph+ kneedown) and she did not like that! haha.

She tells me that she is going to stop me riding if I drag elbow hahaha!!

I can't see the photo.. is there a URL for me to view the image at?

Done!

I'm thinking of buying a brand new Supercorsa SC1 rear next year to see how much quicker I can go at Donington... I hope it stays dry! :P

Have you tried Dunlop Sportsmarts? I haven't use the Sportsmart 2s but the original was my favourite road tyre. I prefer it to Supercorsa SC1/2 and Racetec K3s. The feedback is unreal and so is the grip. I didn't like them in the wet though as they feel skittish but in the dry I fell in love with them
This is surprising as I have heard a few people say the wet grip is really good on these Sport smarts. Kinder glad I didn't get those tyres now!
