We got his long awaited assessment today for ASD. He has been diagnosed as registering on the autistic scale, which wasn't at all a surprise. We are just happy now that we can unlock some doors for the school and ourselves for specialist help.

Onwards and upwards...
Hey Jon, as you know my boy is also on the Spectrum. I won't barrage you with questions, but if you ever want to chat, ask questions of anything just get hold of me. Viv (Scarlet) helped me a lot when Byron was diagnosed, it can be good to have someone further along to bounce off so the future doesn't look so scarey.

Remember one thing, regardless of how its perceived, it is NOT a disability. It's a difference. They are fully capable to achieve as much as a nuero-typical child it's just up to us as parents (with help) to find the right strategies to get them there. It is extremely rewarding when you nail it on occasion.

PM'ed ya my email.

Jon, don't at any point see it as a hindrance, its simply a barrier to get over.

We all ( and i do mean each and every one of us) have some characteristics from the spectrum.

My son was diagnosed with ADHD and dyspraxia when he was 6. How we ever managed to reach that point without going completely mad is still beyond me but once the system has accepted your child needs additional help then at least you will get some support. Don't however ever let anyone in the system say No when its comes to help. Many will still do everything possible not to take on any additional cost and responsibility and with cost cutting on every corner, its still not easy.

Don't be afraid to go above the head in a school and insist on speaking to the governors if needed.

As I have recently been posting, my son is now looking at University options for next year, something we never ever thought would happen 10 years ago, so nothing should stop your son reaching his capabilities.

Some of the most famed and wealthiest people have issues that appear quite prominently on the ASD.

This was posted on facebook last week and is entirely apt for much of today's schooling and how students are judged.

Had a bit of a cock up last night with my car insurance. I put in my details in to go compare found the quote and then rang the cheapest company paid my money. Got the email come through and saw something wrong. Rang up the company and because it was change and the change would affect my premium they wanted to charge me 115quid extra. I cancelled there and then but now have to wait for my money to come back. Wonder how long this will take!

Got the day off as I've got a hospital appointment. Typical - I was awake at 4.30 and couldn't get back to sleep and it's going to be raining all day

Went through Go Compare and put my claims in. One of which I put down as incident No Claim Made. It was a theft but I didn't claim so thought that best suited. Rang up paid and then got the paper work through and checked it all and this incident was put down as third party hit driver. So I rang them up explained the situation and they told me the price. Not being funny but sure I can find cheaper through another company. so cancelled the policy.

It's sickening how much insurance is and don't understand how car NCB can't be used with motorcycle NCB, but as soon as you claim on either one all insurances must be notified and they rape you for it!

Saw you saw two milfs? Big deal ;) . I had two attractive female doctors wearing latex gloves prodding my junk this morning. I had to think boring thoughts to stop Mini Kwacky show his appreciation (angel)
