A go pro yesterday morning. I have finally taken the plunge after a couple of years of wanting one! It's so tiny and light I feels like a toy one!! Looking forward to trying it out on a ride. I have always ordered a suction mount

Careful where you tie it off too Rossgo. You may still have a broken and smashed GoPro on the end of the string but whilst it's been smashing into your fairing panels swinging around in the 70 mph breeze it's not only broke itself it's broke or damaged your bodywork.

Have a look at ram mount systems or the telfriser both of which are extremely secure with virtually zero risk of becoming detached. Just a suggestion hope it's useful.

When I used mine on the Daytona I used a suction mount some of the time.
As long as it was positioned correctly i.e. not sitting on any contours or angles, it was fine.

I did worry to start with about it flying off, but it's seen some rather high speeds and stayed put.

In fact the grip was strong enough to pick the bike up off the sidestand. As long as it's on properly it's going nowhere.

The only issue i had with it was that, compared to the adhesive mounts, the suction unit was massive and really highlighted the fact that you had a camera attached to your bike.

Thanks for the link Blade. Well I am considering putting the adhesive mounts on as well at some point but unsure where yet. I have a RAM mount already fitted but unsure how to connect that to the Go Pro ...this would be my preferred position as well but not good for those long ride outs where I need a Sat Nav!!

Itchy that is certainly a good suggestion and idea I think I will try to check the security of the suction mount but picking the bike off the stand...if it fails I will not use it for high speed haha

Update with the suction mount (picked it up from Royal Mail this afternoon it has a ball mount so I can easily use connect it to my RAM. I picked up the suction mount for £3.50 off eBay and I must admit I have no complaints whatsoever, when mounted onto a glass table it managed to pick the dam thing up!! Pretty good for the price!

I am going to see whether the ball is big enough for the RAM mount later today. I don't see why it shouldn't work though. I was really shocked at how strong the suction is. My old Tom Tom car suction mount is crap always falls off my car windscreen haha
