Re: What are you doing today ??
Sitting in Cairns Qantas lounge.
Normally I fly to work Sydney to Darwin direct before flying to East Timor the next day. But bloody Qantas keep stuffing with the flights. Got to the stage my only direct option to Darwin had me getting a taxi to the airport at 5 am, and landing in Darwin at 1pm and sitting at the airport hotel all day, which was getting a bit old.
So I opted to fly thru' Cairns in Far a North Queensland. Means leaving home at a much more reasonable 10.30am, 3 hour lay over in Cairns drinking for free in the Qantas Lounge then flying to Darwin arriving at 9.15pm.
The morning was much better but im not convinced doing two flights and a lay over is any more preferable to hanging around Darwin airport hotel all day. I'll give it a couple of goes and may change back if I don't get on with it.

Re: What are you doing today ??
Just got in from a night in Stepping Hill Hospital, absolutely knackered not slept for two nights and I'm off to Italy for 4 days in the morning.
Sarah's been away for a couple of days and the first night one of the twins was puking up all night and the second the other one was rushed in with suspected Pneumonia!
All good now though, looking like she should be out today and definitely one of those times when you're glad to have family around the corner.

Re: What are you doing today ??
Have to say the NHS were absolutely fantastic, from the 111 phone call sorting out a late night appointment at the local cottage hospital and then them phoning ahead to the main hospital to make sure we got straight in when we got there. Which we did, she'd had a chest x-ray and was hooked up to a nebulizer within 40 minutes.

Yep, it's called little Sods Law!Kwacky wrote:I like they way they leave it until there's just one parent around to deal with these problems
Luckily my brother is just around the corner otherwise I would have had to of taken all 4 with me in the middle of the night.
The last time this happened Sarah was away and Ella split her head open. I couldn't get hold of anyone, Lily point blank refused to get dressed and then locked me out of the house when I went out to put Ella in the car!
Funny when I look back, although I don't think the nurse was very impressed with my sellotape suture!

The NHS have always been brilliant with our kids as well. It's what you need when you're a panicking parent.

Re: What are you doing today ??
Sorry to hear your kids have not been well Monty it's scary stuff. Years back we had similar and the boy was put on a nebulizer. We were crapping ourselves but he just took it in his stride and was smiling at everyone. Glad you had some support and things are improving. Hope things are back to normal and you get to chill in Italy. All the best mate.

Absolutely amazing in every respect. I'm still buzzing..
Really hope I can go again next year, but at least I have managed to go with my Dad whilst he can appreciate it to some extent.
Hope it's all panned out ok for you Monty, sounds like the ultimate recipe for extreme stress.Monty wrote:Just got in from a night in Stepping Hill Hospital, absolutely knackered not slept for two nights and I'm off to Italy for 4 days in the morning..........

Arguing over a returned item on ebay. Seller is refusing to say he's got it even though he signed for it on the 3rd.
I really do hate ebay.

EBay is a good site and market place if used correctly and respectfully by both buyers and sellers.
As I'm sure you know Kwacky the problem is there is too many bellends spoiling it for everyone.
Hope it gets resolved to your satisfaction quickly and painlessly.

First few weeks ion any job are difficult purely from the fact its a big change and a new challenge.
Give it a while and you will wonder why you never did it earlier probably.
