Big back session tonight, which was optimistic given how warm it still is.

Still, I wasn't sick

Always a plus!

Squash for me again yesterday.
I seemed to be playing either pretty well, or shockingly bad. No happy medium between the two.

And I was pretty moist!

I'm ending my gym sessions now with a HITT exercise. I got a few from LDN Muscle. They're killers.

23 mile bike ride on Sunday, 5 mile run Monday, 10k race yesterday. I'm feeling a but tired tonight.

My biggest problem at the moment is hay fever induced asthma. It's not really bad, just enough to stop you breathing like you need to when trying to run 10k flat out.

57 mins, but not happy with that really. I did 53 mins last month.

I've got another race next month so I'm going to do a lot more training this time, want to aim for 52 mins.

Do you taper your training off before a race to make sure you start each race fully recovered and fresh ?

It sounds like your running (ecuse the pun) an intense program of races. I really envy you as I have had to give up my running through injury and its a great hobby and pass time not to mention a way of keeping fit and in shape.

Good luck at getting your 52 PB (y)

Jon you are making feel lazy. I haven't run at all for months. Life has been pretty crazy and I've been struggling to get thru each day let alone train. But I'm putting on a bit of weight and spare tyre, so I really need to get my arse into gear.

Good luck on that PB mate, I did just over 45 min for 10km but I'd be lucky to break an hour at the moment!

@blade I only taper when the race is a decent distance. The first race of the yately series was just a "turn up after work and run" kind of thing.

I've been lucky injury wise. One of the coaches did at this to me though, and it's oh so very true.

I decided to give the shoulders a bit of a bartering, as they're still weak (and always will be I reckon). I tried some standing military presses and soon found out how weak they really are. 32kg for 8 reps (facepalm). One to work on.

6 mile run on Monday and a 5 1/2 mile of road race yesterday evening. That was fecking hard work, didn't get an accurate time as my watch went flat, but one of the guys supporting estimated 51 mins.

Signed up for Basingstoke half in a couple of months, so time to step the training up again.

I'm new on here and haven't read all of this... I'm a trail runner. Normal weekend run is 14 - 15 hilly miles on the Long Mynd in south Shropshire, I love that place... but have upped it recently, now more like 20+ miles, as I'm doing an ultra - 30 miles - around the Peak District in just over 2 weeks time :)

There is a road up there but it's 35% and narrow, and if you get vertigo then don't bother as it's unfenced, have you been up The Burway kwacky? I occasionally ride it and just hope I never have to do a hill start up there...
