Seriously??? That's friggin nuts! i could take mine off and I'd barely miss it. But I spent a lot of years on mountain bikes and greenlaning so I got a handle on braking pretty quickly.

Rossgo, 90 mph front skids sounds mental! I did an advanced braking course here but never got to that level. Sounds like a very worth while course

Kiwi it was fricken crazy! Although I'm sure if this had been on the road I'd of been off as the grip isn't as good on the roads as it is on an airfield!!

Checked fluids, pumped tyres and lubes chain. Also I got my tail bag prepared with water proofs for tomorrow if it does end up with showers for a day trip in Wales however still unsure on whether it will be leathers or textiles tomorrow. Hate getting leathers wet!

I feel like a bit of a freak now but I quite like my rear brake! I use it loads to just trim a little speed off without upsetting the bike as much as the front would. Also slow speed manoeuvring, filtering etc.

I just WD-40 on my front disc. That way when you brake it isn't quite so aggressive.

That's how it should be used mate, and when I had my bike on the road I did use it the same. But I only ride on the track atm (and not very well (facepalm) ) and struggle to get to it when hanging off so it only gets used if I be a girl about the front coming up.

I never use to use the rear brake but recently turned to the freak side and confirm its much better for control and small adjustments. I use it all the time now. In fact was considering changing the pad compound to improve rear braking.

I use it a lot especially on track to settle the bike blasting into corners

I have no problems using rear brake what so ever. I find it helps as well with just knocking off a little speed if needing to before corners without bringing the bike to stand up, slow moving it's great, oh and also by tapping the rear not by dragging it helps massively.

Rossgo what do you mean by tapping it ? Do you pulse it on and off ? Is this something taught on the course ?

Yea pretty much Blade (that's more for slow riding really) gives really good control using the rear brake. When we was on the course so many of them said they wouldn't use the rear and in fact done ever use it whereas I use it all the time! Don't see anything wrong with it!
