Awww....I'm touched!!

Been off falling in love, driving the divorce highway, and other fun stuff like that....oh, and moving house, which was a PITA...might have to do all that again if the GF and I become a more permanent item...this is a distinct possibility, as Edie is both a little bit younger than me, and a bit of a babe...she also doesn't speak much English, which just about makes her perfect, as I need any romantic relationship to be very deep and meaningless at the moment.

Nah....my son lives here, and despite any other ideas I might get, there really is nothing more to it than that.

Makes good sense to me D. I will always want to be close to my kids were ever they end up, I want to be involved in their lives for life.

"Testing....testing??".....

Life in the old dog yet!! Apologies for the late response...been diagnosed recently with Alzheimer's Disease, which pretty much sucks...or it would if I could remember anything. So I'll try to be brief....house is gone...wife, kids...pretty much everything come to think of it. I don't know where any of my vehicles ...guitars, etc - all gone. Currently in a home in El Monte for like-minded souls, where we fight over cigarette butts & similarly prized objects of desire....it's a real treat.

Could be worse I suppose....right now trying to decide a few things for my somewhat limited future....like Arthur Ash once said, "Sometimes life throws you a curveball".

I always use the same basic passwords, numbers, etc.....stuff that's easy...then maybe advance the numbers by 1 or sommit like that.
Anyway....it's not usually the long-term stuff that seems to get affected....mainly short-term, which in-and-of-itself has a crappy snowball effect. It's also very random.....my "care-givers" think that's very convenient of me, but frankly they can **** right off, unless they think I actually enjoy losing every facet of a normal life in exchange for a spot with this er...very 'unique' crowd of people.

You sure it's not concussion related?

My thoughts exactly, you've had more than your fair share of whacks on the head Daz.

That was my first thought too....well, maybe my 2nd or 3rd. The doctors say no, it's not the case.....concussions will usually heal...there may be memory loss etc., but it should improve progressively to a certain degree, not regress or degenerate over time....I'm in the right age bracket for stuff like this, just lower down the list in terms of likelihood. Anyway, crying about it isn't going to do me any good.

Doh!!....I just did it!!.....re; concussion.....not aware that I suffered one in my off....helmet certainly hit the ground, but in a scraping, skimming manner....nothing particularly traumatic or violent - that was the right side of my midriff/hip that took the brunt.

:( Horrible news D41, very sad.

I suppose it's some consolation that you're somewhere offering care, as I am sure that I read an article a couple of years ago about Americans with dementia being left to fend for themselves on the streets, as there was no state assistance & no appetite to change that stance.
