Must admit my expenses have taken a dive with my latest company, I have to buy my own lunch unless I'm staying over night or leaving the house before 6am.

thats the same with monty i used to have an expense account a company cc,now i get 2.50 to cover a sandwich it doest even buy a coffee !

Whats happened to the space it was parked in before ? has it been allocated to someone else or could you still park there if you could ?

That's pap! The irony is with my lot is I'd be quite happy to drive to Glasgow and back in a day but there's no way I'd do that and pay for my own lunch and dinner. So I stay in hotels or rent city centre flats at many times the cost of a few sandwiches and coffees.

Still it's a lot better than my old boss when I was self employed, that guy was a real tosser.

I used to park it next to the building, to one side and well out of the way of everyone else. Head of HR has always had it in her head that someone cold walk by and knock it over. I have explained that in 6 years no one has come into contact with it, let alone knock it. The bike is parked against the wall so if someone did hit it it would fall towards the wall, not on someone.

Exactly what I was going to say. If they don't like it park in the spot the person who protests likes to use. If your paying the same rate as a car you entitled to a full carpark space and out of spite I would use the particular one the HR manager or who ever the other busy body making a fuzz over nothing likes to use.

Sadly companies employ people to actually make more problems than really exist these days.

Health and Safety has a place in all businesses but once you make it someones job to look at H&S issues then they will find other non-existent problems to raise to justify their position.

I remember watching a program a while ago which was about dispelling the health and safety myth. They looked at a number of h&s complaints and then proved how it was nothing to do with h&s and had been made up either by the company or the internet.
