Bleeding can be a right pita sometimes Tricky we hvae all been there.

Have you tried injecting fluid upwards from the nipple to the resevoir using a syringe ? Often helps in my experience.

Good luck.

yes i have a syringe but i use it to pull the air/fluid through the bleed nipple, normally works fine. its being a pain because they have been totally stripped (cleaned pistons and seals). will have another go tomorrow with a hammer.

Not a lot as most of the bits im waiting for didn't turn up in time, took the fairings off as I needed access to the springs that hold the temporary can on. Took that off as im going down to Austin racing this week to swap it for new one. Cleaned the fairings while I had them off. Looked at the next job to do which is Samco hoses.

7,500 service for the SX

They've given me a little 650 Versys. I was disappointed but it's actually a decent little bike. I'll do a review tonight.;

Had a call from the dealers as the air filter is "a bloody disgrace" :D and needs replacing.

£240 for the service, which isn't cheap, but it's the dealer I bought the bike from and I want to make sure they service it for at least a year after I buy it in case there are any future problems.

They've not done the tyre. When I booked it in it was just for the service. Of course I then had the wheel issue and took the tyre in, but no one told the mechanic. The tyre machine is in Birmingham Triumph next door, which is shut on Mondays. So I've got the Versys for tonight and tomorrow.

Kwacky for info I emailed Kawasaki UK about servicing and warranty.

Basically they are happy for me or an independent dealer to carry out servicing as long as oem parts and the kawasaki service schedule is followed. Any potential warranty claim would still be valid but they did stipulate if missed or incorrect servicing was found to be the cause of the failure and subsequent warranty claim then that claim would be rejected, which I think is far enough and I'm happy to accept.

Hopefully the info is helpful for the future if you want to take the bike to Mikes.

Personally I do all my own servicing and keep receipts / records as I have had more than my fair share of bad experiences at main dealers.

That's the way the law has been for a while now.

Convenience is another factor. The zx6r is off the road. Brum gave me a loan bike. If it wasn't fit the rear tyre the service editor have been me riding there, getting the loan bike, going to work, then riding back after work and swapping bikes.

Mike either picks the bikes up and drops them off which takes a few days in total or I ride there and stop the bike off with my wife driving down behind me to bring me back. Then she has to drop me off.

I'm also cautious as it's an ex demo bike. The last one I bought died on me.

Once I've got 2 bikes running I can be a bit more flexible.

OK fair shout Kwacky just an idea and agree best to play it safe with an ex demo machine.

Can't remember if we have discussed this before but have you looked at extending the warranty to cover years 3 and 4. Only £350 which considering how essential your machine is could be a good move.

My memory is terrible mate, sorry for repeating things.

I have previously always been against extended warranties on any product and preferred to always by from a brand I have confidence in but my opinion is changing. Long gone are the days when we fixed motorcycles with spanners and other hand tools we now live in an almost completely digital age. I now think on these ever more complex motorcycles we are buying its a good and wise investment to buy a warranty to protect yourself from expensive repairs that are more and more likely to occur due to the complexity of the machines we ride.

I couldn't agree more. These new bikes are stressed to the limit. If they do fail it's an expensive fix.

Ordered a new cover for the zx6r. I may as well make the spiders who have moved in comfortable.
