What was the rationale in limiting the HP output on the US bikes considering there are so many stock models for sale here producing far more than 101? Come to think of it, I think my 11 year old Daytona probably produces around 90-95 horses.

I honestly don't know Mac. It's just what I read in an article in this month's performance bikes magazine.

Some interesting comments have been made after a few select racers got the opportunity to ride it up goodwood hill at the fos.

McGuiness reckons it is rapid and would love to race it at the TT, how good would that be ?

Guintoli says he wants to buy one with his own money. He says he would ride it on the road too. His exact words were "you couldn't buy one and just have it in your garage and not ride it.....how terrible would that be ? Like having a fit wife and never being able to sleep with her !"

Stoner reckons he could win races on it in the 800 era with the right Tyres.

Ha-ha. Imagine trying to insure it (whew)

I believe even though the website only goes live on 13 the July they have already sold 72 and 12 of them were at goodwood festival of speed where it had a public appearance.

I'm sure it's a fantastic piece of kit. I know that Honda wouldn't release a bag of crap, but some impartial feedback would be good.

I sincerely hope these don't end up in display cases and on walls.

Its made to be used and ridden so hopefully we might see some at trackdays in the future just as many Desmosedicis are.

Listen to the noise. (devil)

I hope they do a lower spec version that is affordable...ish for regular people.

I would have one in a heart beat and use on the roads no problem. Totally agree it's a machine to be used not art to be admired.

If they committed to building (and selling obviously) a thousand of these over the next two years they could race it World Super Bikes in 2016

Good shout Monty (y) .

TBH no reason why they coudn't race it next year and pull out in 2017 and hopefully enter a new CBR1000RR

As such, the FIM has approved the following homologation changes:

- The minimum number of units to start the homologation procedure will be 125.
- At the end of the first year of participation, manufacturers will have to reach 250 units.
- At the end of the second year of participation, manufacturers will have to reach 1000 units.
