No i appreciate that, Blade.
Some expensive tooling going to be needed to make a short run of new engines.

I think the current tooling will be used, just things like pneumatic valves etc don't appear in the road replica RCV.

Absolutely gorgeous close up and comparing it to Marquez's RCV213 which was next to it, its a very good replica.

Re: Road-going Honda RCV unveiled
I've a mate who works for Honda who blagged a sit on that whilst the stand was being set up.
It would appear that is a non-running version.

Yes the carbon clad one at the Milan show on the first day which was quickly retuned to Japan the very same day is one if not the only running test mule

Re: Road-going Honda RCV unveiled
Reality is hitting home and I'm starting to realise RCV ownership is getting more and more unlikely. I was prepared to pay a decent amount but six figure territory is beyond my limit.
Instead I'm hoping the next Blade looks more like an RCV as Yamaha have made the new r1 look similar to an m1. Would also be great of the produced that colour scheme as in the flesh its truly stunning IMO.

Re: Road-going Honda RCV unveiled
Because its not an RCV.
I would pay handsomely for a Honda GP bike because it would be so special to me.
An R1M would be no more special to me than a 2 year old S10000rr, zx10r or Blade for half the price.
Might seem strange to others but I would pay handsomely for my dream machine but just another high performance Sportsbike is simply that to me and therefore can't justify 18k when I can get similar kicks for 9k

Re: Road-going Honda RCV unveiled
Allegedly the production costs of the RCV roadbike work out somewhere around £120k.

Well if it sounds like this, I would want my money back.

Re: Road-going Honda RCV unveiled
Sounds crap and doesn't look much better. Very bland in appearance.

Re: Road-going Honda RCV unveiled
Its obviously a staged video to promote the bike but surely you want it sounding like the fire-breathing monster it should be? It doesn't even sound much like a V4 to me.

Re: Road-going Honda RCV unveiled
And he pulled away very slowly with miminal revs and it was at a low key event. I'm guessing its still quite a way from being fully production ready.

Re: Road-going Honda RCV unveiled
I see Honda have announced that one of these bikes will be built each day, with production ending at the end of 2016
A bargain price of just £137,000.
