Which rear shock?

In the interests of actually riding a bike this year I've decided to stick with the Daytona 'till winter. It wants a rear tyre, crash protection returning and I'd like to change the rear shock. I don't want to spend too much on it to limit losses selling it on so are the £350ish shocks any good? Nitron etc. I don't need all the bells and whistles as it's predominantly for road use. Cheers!

Nitron are very good as they make them to your weight specs

Do Nitron just give you a spring suitable for your weight and everyone gets the same valving for the dampening or are they a full custom build like Maxton ?

I think but don't quote me the base nitron shock is an emulsion shock and therefore IMO would be a downgrade on a 675 unless your OEM shock is shot to pieces.

Personally I would but a top brand race shock second hand but in good condition and then sell it for what you bought it for.

My rear shock is poor. The front "feels like it's had work done on it" according to Maxton. The Ohlins is for a 2013 so won't fit but I like the Nitron race shock.

Get a bid in Andy, finishes soon and its their top flight pro race shock, which I think retails for circa £800.

Didn't get it. It went or £423. Didn't want to spend too much on a second hand shock which potentially wants servicing.

Andy I think this will fit your bike and its at a good price and the guy is open to offers too so could be a bargain.

Plus you could easily sell that for what you bought it for at the end if the year when you part ex so a win win.

I saw that one cheers Blade. The oem Triumph Ohlins stuff isn't meant to be as good as proper Ohlins stuff. It has a few days to run that one so will keep it in reserve but I'm looking to soften up the rear really and the pre '13 Daytonas were pretty stiff. I want it all and I want it cheap lol.

Haha I recognise that carpet! Think that is on ebay too. World of Triumph is selling those shocks for £550 new so £450 seems pretty steep for a third hand shock! I'm going to let the clock run down on the adverts and then go for a cheeky offer in the theory they won't want to relist them.
