I've decided to change the grips on the Daytona
When looking at the them earlier I noticed that there are some lugs on the clip ons that the grips attach themselves to
Are these essential if I'm changing the grips because I wanted to change the style

Re: New Grips for the Daytona
You can 'float' them on and off with compressed air forced underneath with an air gun.
From memory, mine are set slightly out from the tabs and then lock-wired on. If you were to go with replacement OEM grips then they'd sit over the tabs if installed correctly.
I went for medium Renthal grips for mt track whore and can't fault them, other than the grey colour. Progrip also do some gel grips that offer more grip and padding and come in a range of colours.
Alternatively, I guess you could file off the tabs if you go to another brand of grips.
Using petrol to slide the new grip on 'melts' the inner rubber which then sets again once in place acting like a glue. I still like to lockwire.... well everything!!!

No you don't have to take the lugs into account when ordering new, Spudda.
