Kwacky wrote:"game changer" is a term I hate because they very rarely mean it. Unless it's a MotoGP bike with an intelligence system to allow us mortals to ride it like Rossi I can't see how it's going to change the game.

Journos need to justify their existence but crap like that winds me up.
I suspect that is where they are going.

More and more i hear of the best riders 'leaning' on the TC systems for faster lap times. Doubt it will be long before the mere mortals learn to do similar.

This new R1 makes a fantastic noise. Proper 'Motogp'.

Still looks hangin to me.... Going to test ride one ASAP though, just to see what the fuss is about.

Mcn will no doubt tout it as the best ever, and every other new bike launched... Lol.

I was reading the 1299 Panigale test by James Haydon at the weekend and he reckoned the Ohlins semi-active kit on the Ducati (and the new R1-M) are a step on from that on the new BMW S1000RR.

The reports coming out about the Yamaha are very good so far.

Good to hear Duke. My shock is apparently now not ready till mid march but sounds like it will be worth the wait.

"The Kayaba suspension is top notch. The new forks save a chunk of weight and perform in exemplary manner. There’s bags of adjustment, and the rear is sublime too"
if its got Ohlins why do they mention Kayaba suspenders ? unless its only Ohlins forks
if i was in the market for a new bike this is the one I would be seriously looking at

Not sure if anyone caught the studio chat during the WSB coverage but Shakey said pretty much the same as you Jack.

Everything they have put on the new R1 to make it such a great road bike will have to be stripped off for BSB rules

R1-M has Ohlins and the R1 has Kayaba.

I think it was £18500 for the R1M but all 70 of them which are destined for the uk are already sold.
