Have to say, even though I have certain expectations of politeness all the kids conducted themselves in an impeccable manner. Even when a group of 15-16 boys rocked up I thought “here we go” but they were just as well behaved as the little ones.

I wonder if you had parents bringing kids to your area as it was deemed safer?

I ate way more treats than I should have and as I avoid sugar in my diet normally, my guts is way mad with me this morning 😠

I normally send my kids out to beg and then turn all the lights off and hide behind the settee.

Today I'm heading off to the desert to see KISS in concert....I looked it up, and it's been exactly 40 years and 3 days since I last saw them in concert.

$50 sez their setlist hasn't changed one bit. :D

Well, the KISS show was truly exceptional, amazing, etc.....you could throw all the superlatives you want at it, and you still wouldn't do it justice.
But beforehand, I remember thinking "$300 a ticket? I must be losing my mind!"

Had great seats, on the floor, and a couple of us took advantage of a few vacant seats even closer to the stage).
There was fire-breathing, rocket-firing guitars, hydraulic drum risers, "floating" podiums, the singer was zip-lining around above the crowd, explosions, flames shooting up around the stage, giant balloons bouncing around all over the place, a second stage in the middle of the arena, etc.....I've probably missed out a lot, I'm still trying to take it all in.
...As good as I hoped it might be, it blew away all my expectations - and all that from a bunch of guys in their late 60s and early 70s.
I can't for the life of me imagine what they could have done to make that show any better. I am truly impressed.
Best $300 I ever spent on one night of entertainment.
(...not counting hookers in Las Vegas*).

Went to check on the caravan this morning.. the storm has taken it's toll and one of the sky lights is broken.

I wiped up the rain from the inside and taped a bin bag over the sky light. That will be a tomorrow problem.

Then hired a van and drove 190 miles to look at a bike.. Costco and hertz do a great party by the hour solution, you just get a pin number to unlock the van and if you go.. brilliant idea, though a little expensive for a longer run.

Bit more driving about today.. picked up some body armour, only used a couple of times and less than half the new price. Full length chest and back protector and attachment points for a neck brace if I fancy adding one later.

Ordered goggles and gloves so ready to go.Image

It's both time and distance..

I was charged £16 per hour and 35p per mile. So 5 hours and 190 miles worked out to £146.

A full weekend hire in a SWB transit is about the same cost.. so yeah, it's not cheap but it's very convenient and would work well for local pickups or tip runs etc....

So he was more worried about your swearing than he was about having his kid on the track? What a prick.

Would have really hurt. Me and the bike weigh a combined 110-115kg and GPS says I was doing over 30 mph.. that 40kg kid would have been spending some nights in hospital that's for sure.

Do cyclists have the right of way over pedestrians over there, and is there a speed limit on the trails?
