Was out down at Ashdown on the YZ yesterday, you know when you have one of those days when everything hooks up... that was it. I pushed hard to ride harder and longer, trying to improve my stamina. Felt good, not so hot, a little rain at times to wet the track was most welcome.

However this morning, my body is moaning about the abuse yesterday lol......

Washed 2 weeks of bugs, tar and road grime off the bike and went over it twice first with Muc-off speed polish then again with quick detailer... I even washed the panniers. Then thoroughly cleaned and lubed the chain.

Off to the dealer tomorrow to get a quote for a new key as the buttons popped off somewhere in Switzerland and they don't sell them separately, could be expensive for a cosmetic piece. They might warranty it as the bike is covered until October, or I might trade it in.

Had a cracking day on Sunday, the monthly RAT run with the Triumph boys, does make me laugh after all the years I am back on a Triumph with them. Anyway 200 miles ish, and the destinations were airfields.
First stop was Old Sarum where we watched some sky divers jumping out of planes, then onto Compton Abbas Airfield. We should have been at Popham Airfield late afternoon. However due to nattering and watching planes taking off and landing at Compton we ran out of time. So ended up have a very welcome Larger shandy in Stockbridge.
I dressed for a wet day, it hardly rained, we missed the showers, still wet roads in parts, but dressed in full wet clobber, I was sweating like a good un!! Still a good day out.

Popped out for a morning blast while the roads were quiet.

Lovely day for riding, 20 ish degrees and no wind.

Just under 200 miles mainly round the Cotswolds with a lot of "that looks like a nice road" kind of random turns.

A very cold ride in to work this morning. We even had freezing fog in Warwickshire. It felt more like the start of October.

It's been bloody horrible down in Cornwall for most of the trip so far.

Rain, wind, and fog as well as just cold.

We normally sit outside and chat with our friends over a few drinks. Managed about 15 mins last night before we came in and put the telly on. shit summer.

Sunday was the Monthly ride out with the Triumph lot... stayed dry for most of the day, then the heavens opened !!!
Quick stop at a garden centre cafe just north of H's Cafe.... and then onto Blazing Saddles. We were joined by some of the Triumph owners MC for this one. Everyone stayed together on the way there, I ended up on the ride home with just one other person.... everyone got lost very early on LMAO!

Went for a quick spin on my bike to Sainsbury's for some Bread. Also had to change my PIN on a new bank card but the ATM outside was broke, so went to the nearest one up the road. From there I took the most direct route home but managed to end up in the middle of a bike run of about 20 bikes because some had to stop for me at a roundabout :D. It was quite fun while it lasted!

Took wife pillion to BMW dealer, tested F800r, pillion to Triumph dealer, tested Speed Twin 900, then pillion home again.

Mrs Cookie finally has a new bike. Box fresh SpeedTwin 900 in a dark metallic green, arrives Friday.

I’ve traded my VFR against it as it’s not being used,

I’m looking forward to riding it 🤭
