Yes, he has.

As he was working on it he was showing me the changes to way the bike responded to weight changes.

I really couldn't believe it when he finished. He bounced the bike and asked me if I could see any changes. I thought it looked balanced. Both the front and the rear came up at exactly the same rate.

The ride back was along the A442, past the Quatt cafe. The road is really mixed in the state of repair. You can feel it settle much quicker and smoother when you're going over bumps. The front tracks really well now.

I've bedded in the new brake pads. The EBC have a really nice initial bite, not grabby but still strong.

The headlight has gone on the MV.

I've got some spare bulbs so I thought I would swap it out this afternoon.

I've not got any H3 bulbs. Some lunex supreme vision on order.

So the H3 bulb arrived and I swapped it over. Still the same issue.

I decided to order a replacement H11b to colour match the new H3 and to make sure that wasn't the issue.

New 11b in, still no headlight. Main was only coming on when I was using the pass switch.

I called MV this afternoon and I've booked the bike in for the headlight to be checked.

In the meantime I decided to RTFM, just in case I missed something.

Did you know that the MV has a daylight running mode, which is optional?

The Triumph has a warning light to tell you that main beam in NOT on. When it’s on the light goes out. My mind tells it should be the other way round.

I think the Ducati might be the same.

Lol.

Unlike the BMW which had automatic switch from the DRL to the headlight, the speed has a big switch and an indicator on the dash.

I wonder how many times I'll ride in low light conditions and forget to turn the headlight on.

I've slapped it in eBay to see if there's any interest in it. I'm in two minds. I love the bike but it's not being used. So I've priced it at the upper end of the market. Plus it's not the best time of the year to sell.

I’m going to put the 748 up for sale next week to see if anyone bites.

Booked the MV in for an annual service. The bike is 3 years old in June but I'm hoping it's just a straightforward service. The manual says replace the spark plugs but it's done less than 4000 miles.

The first time out on the Brutale for a few months. I really should ride it more, it's an absolute riot.

Checked the bike over ahead of the service on Tuesday. When I turned on the ignition there wasn't enough power to prime the fuel pump. Seeing as I used the bike all day on good Friday so the battery should be fully charged. So I'm guessing the battery is on its last legs. I'll ask the dealer to check it for me.

The mechanic told me to try a converter cable on the MV so I can use my optimate charger. They do a much better job with fully charging batteries. He reckons the MV charges are hit and miss.

For £20 it's worth a go.

I wheeled the bike out to take to work. The pump primed but there wasn't enough to start it. That's after 2 days. I'll try the optimate on it but I seems that the battery is fried. Time to look for a replacement.

Bugger. It’s a lithium isn’t it?

No, gel. There's conflicting advice about fitting lithium batteries to these bikes.

There's an MV dealer near Staverton who are recommended on the MV page. I'm going to message them to see what their advice is and how much they'll charge.

£220 for supply and fitting. I know that sounds a lot but the bay is under the tank and the fuel lines are short. Everyone who has tried to do it themselves has said don't, bite the bullet and get an MV tech to do it.
