Sounds riveting, kiwi!
I'm making the most of 2 days off by spending time out with Mrs and Baby Cav. It's been great to have the time off.

Sat watching the rain and waiting for deliveries, I was going to change the rear axle on the car but it's not here yet.

they hit a lot of markers when they're young. It's amazing how they change from day to day.

Had an electrician in to fit an outside socket set the end of the garden
In the meantime I started looking at the leaking toilet in our bedroom. Turns out that the outlet pipe is slightly higher than the height of the toilet.
How did I find that out? By stripping out the connector. Which has now totally failed. So now I've got an unconnected toilet and an en suite that stinks of open sewer.

Went to work, got a haircut, had a drunken idiot trying to fight my bus...
Standard Saturday evening in Doncaster. There's a reason I don't go into town drinking very often, too many people out for trouble.

Took the two youngest kids into the city to watch the musical ‘Hamilton’. I’d promised it for ‘when we are out of lockdown’ ages ago, before I realised it was going to cost me $250 per ticket
Still a good day out all the same

Went car shopping. Had the smart for 2 years and it's been great for short commutes and running round town. 180 miles of mainly motorway however is much less fun.
Put a deposit down on this, still small enough and cheap enough to run as a second car, but big enough to feel comfortable on the M1.

Replacing that, I paid for a refurbished one with new bushings already installed and a warranty... There's still frost on the car so I might give it another hour.Stonesie wrote:

Re: What are you doing today ??
My friend Sergio came down to lend a hand and we got it all apart in 2 hours, only stripped the head out of one T50 torx bolt which I know a trick for involving a hammer and a star bit (12 point) a dash of industrial language helps.
After a coffee break and some banter we got it all back together in about 1 hour, more coffee and BS then a test drive to see if the noise was fixed, which it is, and for a bonus the car drives straight meaning our eyeball alignment is good enough. Handles nicer too with a 1 piece rear anti-roll bar.
We found a bit of rope to hang the hub assembly's from the tow bar via the rear door handles
And another pic of the Pigeon Poop "Weld"
I kind of want to meet the guy who thought that was acceptable workmanship

Cycled into work this morning... in sub zero temperatures. I was pleasantly surprised that only my knees were cold (although I had to choice between breathing and having my face freeze off because of my snood)

Re: What are you doing today ??
Day 1 of HGV training, just a 2 hour session getting all the admin squared away and a walk through of the vehicle checks, followed by driving over the road to do some reversing around cones into a mock loading bay.
I got it first try but by the 3rd it took 1/4 the time and was lined up pretty much perfect, so he had me put it back in it's parking spot which took a couple of attempts because the one next to mine was not lined up straight and I lined up with that the slop in the driveline is significant in reverse and amplified by the 5 plastic 1 ton cubes in the back, not quite full of water for maximum sloshing, If I can get good in this Renault then I will be good in anything
