Re: What are you doing today ??
Got to take a look at deals for a new phone for my Wife.
If anyone knows of great deals on an S21 5G which work out at under £30/month and not too outrageous on upfront cost - please let me know
My best so far:
100GB with Three
£199.99 upfront
£27/month/24m
Samsung boosted cashback @£150 over trade-in value
Topcashback at £110
Comes in at a total cost/month (including upfront) of £24.50

Only needs 5gb but those deals never have any offers available with them and are only £2/3 cheaper

I buy the phone and get a SIM only deal. New phones offer very little in terms of tech improvement and you can get really good deals on out going models.

Re: What are you doing today ??
I looked into doing that but the total cost of doing it the way I outlined above is £588. The cheapest I can find the Phone only (from a place I've never heard of) is £559.99. I won't be able to find a SIM deal for £1.17/month.
It's a strange world we live it, like financing a car is cheaper than paying cash.

I use these

I've not looked at the S21 so I don't know if they've got any.

Yep they're legit. I've used them a few times. I've not had any issues with them.

100GB Whats her current usage - bet its less than 10.Cav wrote:Got to take a look at deals for a new phone for my Wife.

So over £800 for a new phone when you can buy one that does 90% of the same job for less than £200. I do wonder why - sorry.
My phone was £200. My phone contract is £6 a month. Therefore £340 tops.
£500 buys a lot of other things (including bike bits or nappies) or reduces an already large credit card debt..

Re: What are you doing today ??
She uses 3-6GB/month. Typically contracts come with 2/20/100/ULTD GBs but I works out cheaper to get 100GBs as you can always get discounts unlike with the smaller tariffs.
As for the phone, she's upgrading from an S7 which she has had for 4 or 5 years. She'd rather keep a phone for a long time than change every 2 years. She's been paying £9/month for her current SIM-only for 2-3 years so saved a lot of money up til now.
Now we have our Son she also loves the quality of pictures we can achieve with my newer phone (emphasis on can)

Re: What are you doing today ??
Fair enough.
I'd look seriously at buying the phone separately and keeping a cheap sim deal. Depends on the phone of course, but still a lot of money imo.
You can get a hell of a camera for that money too.

We have a good camera too but they aren't convenient like a smart phone. I agree it's a lot of money too. Will keep looking, my mind isn't made up

Re: What are you doing today ??
on my last night shift before heading back to quarantine for 2 weeks.
But there is some good news released today. By the time I do my next swing at work, there will be no international quarantine for return Australian citizens who are fully vaccinated... so no more quarantine coming home!!
On the trip up, as of the 15 Dec (also just before my next swing) the company plans to have its new Vaccinated Covid Policy in place and even coming from a hotspot, i'd only do one or two nights quarantine till I gave a negative result and then I'd be straight out to work. From a non-hotspot, just straight out to work like the good old days.
Unfortunately not all the States are aligned so we can't just all move back to the old roster straight away, but by 1st quarter next year we should be back to 3 on 4 off 3 on 5 off.....wahoo!

Re: What are you doing today ??
Fantastic! Very happy for you mate. That must appease some of the frustration surrounding this stint's quarantine.
