Possible UK Trackdays
I compiled a list of potential UK track dates and shared it with my usual bunch of trackday idiots.
Are any of you up for any of these dates?
My personal preference is leaning toward an evening and following day at Snetterton but I'm sure it'll end up being somewhere else once the other guys have their say.
Let me know anyway

Snett has never appealed to me
I wouldn't mind taking the MV to Mallory or Donny

Re: Possible UK Trackdays
Donny is a mint circuit but it's very expensive now and hard to book onto.
Currently my group are leaning toward Bedford or Cadwell. I'm personally very game for Mallory too.

the old ladies are gone now , as has the giant teapot , and the quality of the tea has declined accordingly , there was 30 years worth of flavour in that teapot. The breakfast is still pretty good though .Kwacky wrote:Perkles only goes to Mallory because he fancies the canteen staff
If I'm not doing anything else and you do Mallory ,Donington or possibly Cadwell I'll pop along with the camera and see if I can make you look good .

Make sure you bring a rose tinted filter and vaseline to hide my imperfections then please, Jack! Haha
I'm liking the sound of their breakfasts though!
I'll make it known there're 2 folk voting Mallory and Duke are you electing to join and voting Snet?

Re: Possible UK Trackdays
The chat went stale when I mentioned Mallory but today they've decided they're doing Bedford on August 6th.
Anyone game? If you want to do it I can book you on with my credit then you can bank transfer or PayPal the money to me. Or you can book yourself.

Two deaths in the course of a few days last week, NL were telling riders to calm down at Donny on Saturday. On Sunday a rider was killed .

Re: Possible UK Trackdays
I won't speculate till the facts come out but I've heard some alarming comments regarding the Donnington fatality.
Whatever happened no one should die on a trackday.
RIP fallen bikers.

Re: Possible UK Trackdays
From people who were there and know the bloke (fellow racers) said that another bike had a mechanical failure resulting in something relating to the brake caliper hitting rider who passed. Details after that are varied and so I won't speculate either.
It's kind of irrelevant whatever happened, it's tragic and there's not much more to it than that.
Side note.. anyone see the knob who took out a fellow rider at Mallory?

Re: Possible UK Trackdays
i stood next to a guy while he died on the same corner during an mcn track day ,he got rammed from behind while he was sitting upright on the track after falling off ,it was nobodys fault
I have booked portomaio with no limits in November and have no hesitancy going with them ,I tend to ride at the back of the group and keep out of peoples way its not a race its a track day
RIP to the guy that lost his life

Re: Possible UK Trackdays
Trackdays are not what they used to be, IMHO. Riders used to rock up on their road bike and rode relatively safely as they needed to ride home too.
The advent of cheap track bikes means riders turn up like they are competing in a race with all the gear to go with it.
Its not right or wrong but it has changed from being a fun day out with mates to being a much more serious operation, and that just isn't for me.
Its why I have only done the Ducati days in recent years.

Re: Possible UK Trackdays
I made a decision not to do any uk track days this year, two reason, i have been lucky enough to have been doing euro track days which are all open pit and limited numbers on track, a sessioned track day just does not feel the same. having them cancelled this year is a bummer, but it is what it is.
Secondly everyone and their dog wants to get on track, and with no racing, you will have every single racer who can get on track will be! you are most likely safest of all in the fastest group, however with numbers of super fast guys being as high as it it, the groups are going to get really shaken up.
For me not worth the stress, i am not a racer, not going to be racer, its just a fun day out, which for this year i will just have to get my kicks riding roads this year
