I'm not sure why you think that's uncomfortable. Upright position, bars not too far forward or low, big thick seat, pegs not high or back.

Re: What are you doing today ??
Low seat height with semi-high pegs means cramped knees then there's a long reach to the bars. That's what I see anyway. I've not ridden one so I don't know for certain

Fair analysis looking at the pics wonder how it fairs where it counts in the seatCav wrote:Low seat height with semi-high pegs means cramped knees then there's a long reach to the bars. That's what I see anyway. I've not ridden one so I don't know for certain

Get a room, you twoBlade wrote:

Unless they've drastically changes the ergonomics from the earlier models it's all day comfortable. The pegs aren't high and there's loads of leg room. The long seat means you can move around from an upright touring position to a more crouched racing posture.

Like I say I haven't ridden one. That sounds ideal though especially as it's a bike you want to be able to just bob along on

The owner says mildy customised. Removing the number plate always makes a bike look so much better. I think the suspension and engine is prety much stock.Blade wrote:That looks amazingduke63 wrote:This makes a great bonus.

carbon side panels looks really good, IMHO.

It has a number plate, BTW.
Which is fine, because you see it here as you'd see it on the street.
Beautiful bike. Surprised how heavy they feel....not sure if that's pure weight, or the big wheels.

Re: What are you doing today ??
without trying to hi jack this thread and make it "why is Kiwi buying a Thruxton", I like the cafe idea and I enjoy the GB until I hit my hill and it runs out of legs, I've satisfied a boyhood dream buy owning it and as much as I said I like to tool around at legal speeds, it would be nice to have something similar with a bit more ommph. The Thruxton 900 is still less than half of what my Multi puts out. Ive sat on a 900 and it felt really comfy and roomy while still being low and not overly big, but yet to ride one. Its also a bike I've always thought I'd like to own. I'm looking at the older 900's as they are a third the price of the new 1200's but still a capable bike. Lots of them go with low Km's here because old farts own them.Cav wrote:That looks cool but uncomfortable to me.
Kiwi, how about a hypermotard? If you've got a bunch of twisties near you that would be ideal. Comfortable position and great flickability. It isn't a bike you need to ride fast.
I have ridden a motard (Wr450F with road tyres/rims) and while it is a packet of fun, I'd have no licence in a month. The riding style takes me back to my offroad riding days and my brain just switches into nutter mode.
If you want to clean this thread up Kwacky, happy for you to bung the Thruxton talk into a new thread

Still along way off, I rang about the one in the link i posted earlier and he has 4 people coming on the weekend, so i doubt it will still be there in 2.5 weeks when i finally get home. But I've been casually looking for a while and good ones come up semi regularlyFrankie wrote:Looks great to me, enjoy

Re: What are you doing today ??
I've been running errands today.
I've been giving Wickes a hard time recently but credit where credits due, they are very good at returns. I didn't need to enter the shop, instead I gave the my click & collect order number and they refunded it while I waited out the front. Probably took 3 minutes!
