Took the Versys into work.

The rear shock didn't fall off so I count that as a win.

Not me but Mrs C00kiemonster has actually gone out on my bike! Bit wierd as i'm not out with her, but this may be the first step to choosing a new bike! She will at least have a benchmark to compare to with mine.

I shall be pacing around until she returns :D (sweat)

Hope she comes back with a few ideas.

If you want magazine tests of any particular bikes give me a shout and I will hunt through my back catalogue.

Just don’t let Maia get to it first. :D

Well she's back and absolutely full of the joys of motorcycling :D

She loved it - got it to 170kmh (on one of the private roads) and could quite happily ride it again. It's quite a moment considering she was a die hard sportsbike fan.

She wants something she can put her feet flat down on (cant quite do that on the 765) but really enjoyed it and understood why i said it's a "naughty" bike.

Next stage is shortlist of bikes :P

If I was going Monster I would go 797. The air cooled engine has much more character. The 821 and even the 1200 were a bit bland for my liking.

However if you can find a nice one the older 1100 is the best Monster. Air cooled again and iirc just below 100bhp so cheaper on insurance. Loads of grunt in the air cooled engine.
