Roosgo, I'm getting a computer desk this week so will look at improving my PC - my dad has 2x Radeon 5870 cards (I think) going spare so might get a free upgrade. I'm hoping I can then play BF1.
Got 2x SSDs also so load times should be good - I'll have to add you as a friend if it works the same way as BF3

Going backwards, yesterday and today were spent learning a new system that eliminates some of my paperwork, the paper version takes 10 mins, the digital version takes 20-25 mins. Apparently this is progress.....

Booking motorcycle live tickets - £1.50 Fulfilment Fee - what for booking on the internet? Cheeky feckers, they are pricey enough.
I'm also moving 2 tons of firewood which have been delivered this morning, we won't be cold this winter!

Re: What are you doing today ??
Work is a bit mental at the moment. I might have to go to Liverpool on Monday, which means spending most of Sunday preparing for it. I'm supposed to have next Friday off but my boss has already asked me if I'm doing anything important on that date, which means I'm not having my day off.

Went live with it today and of course the system failed - because some twat in IT has suspended my account and then disappeared off the grid.Deegee wrote:Going backwards, yesterday and today were spent learning a new system that eliminates some of my paperwork, the paper version takes 10 mins, the digital version takes 20-25 mins. Re: What are you doing today ??
Don't you just love these idiots?
I lost two days of work because our IT team has disabled temporary files if you save a document to a file on our system.
That's great. Provided you've not opened a document in the system only for it to go down when you save it. Result? No back up if it fails to save and no way of recovering it. I saved a file I worked on into my directory. The next day I went to open it and it told me the file path doesn't exist. So I thought no problem, go to recent documents. Nope, not there. Ongoing saves to last version? No mate, who needs those?

Re: What are you doing today ??
Trying to get everything lined up for the next few days, as it looks like I'm going to be busy. So much so I've had to cancel next Friday's day off.
Tomorrow I'm the only one in and we've got a conference with a QC. I know he's going to want a load of work done so that'll be down to me.
Monday I'm in Liverpool, so I lose a day in the office. Next week one of the partners is on holiday, so I'll cover her work, plus we've got a junior solicitor coming back from maternity leave and she will be sitting next to me, so I'll have to make sure she's ok getting back up to speed. She's been off for over a year.
All good fun.

Yep. QC, referred to as silk or senior counsel. The big buck earners.
