Fair play to the attendant, think I’d have been tempted to brain the muppet with it afterwards.

Re: Smoking on a Garage forecourt
Saw that earlier, bloody good work I say. Being in the Oil & Gas game with plenty of Fire Fighting experience I really get the sh*ts when I see people on phones and such on a forecourt. I'd probably do the same if I saw a smoker.

Re: Smoking on a Garage forecourt
Not when you drop the fecker on the ground and smash it, the battery displaces and causes an arc as it does so.
Agree it's a limited risk but is a phone call that important that a fireball is worth the risk. You know that lovely smell you get filling your car/bike? That's butane vapour.
I also don't agree with people sitting on their bikes filling up or leaving kids in cars in forecourts. Both cases if a fire happens you have limited the escape opportunities.
I've seen videos of all three events actually occurring on training days when I worked at the Refinery. I know it's my industry and safety has been drummed into me regarding hydrocarbons handling but the first thing I do at a service station is eye up where the extinguishers are.

Re: Smoking on a Garage forecourt
Well, even if you could it would be a negligible amount.
TBH it's simply easier to do when you're off the bike, and that's all there is to it.

Re: Smoking on a Garage forecourt
put you have to put the bike on the side stand to go and pay unless it's pay at the pump, then you'll lean the bike as soon as you get to the first corner

I always fill up on the bike. I've also had a ciggy in an Italian petrol station where they provide ash trays

Me too, you can get more in. I don’t smoke or text while I’m doing though.Blade wrote:Haha. Strangely yesKwacky wrote:Even if you've got to get off to pay?Blade wrote:Always fill up on the bike. Just easier.
