They've pulled the plug on F1 as they're losing money. The last one would be in 2019
I can't say I'm surprised, a few circuits have moaned about what's asked of them to host it.

Re: Silverstone
there will not be a British round after 2019 , unless the current owners of F1 come to their senses and change the business model , Malaysia has already pulled the plug on F1 I expect more circuits to follow suit .

Re: Silverstone
Plus it's boring. People love open wheel racing but you need some action and you want the drivers to have character.

Re: Silverstone
F1 is awful presently. No racing to speak of, no real innovation as they are too bound up in rules and no real characters as drivers.
I don't blame them. The ticket prices at Silverstone are already a p take.

Re: Silverstone
Doesn't surprise me at all, F1 is lost, too much tech and too many rules to control the use of tech.
I know the original idea was to encourage technical improvement for everyday use, but with the advent of electric vehicles and the reality of peak oil I'm not even sure it's relevant anymore except as entertainment, and if that's the case the need for excessive tech/rules disappears as well, along with the price tag.
I bet Liberty Media think they've bought a clunker from Swiss Tony Ecclestone.

Re: Silverstone
I don't watch the F1 to be fair and find it pretty boring but that doesn't mean I wouldn't want to go to watch it Live and treat my dad to something he has always wanted to go and see at Silverstone. So I think I've just got to work a bit harder and make sure I get some tickets before 2019 GP!!

Re: Silverstone
It bored with f1 many years ago. It lost all character and just became about who has the most money wins, by fair means or foul.
Hopefully a couple of big circuits doing out will get the organisers to rethink things and maybe listen to the fans.
