Re: The new improved fitness thread
Last nights gym session took an age to complete - for some reason, 3 individual people kept asking me about where I get my routines from, why I'm training different muscle groups together, what am I training to achieve, etc, etc...
I just wanted to get in and out.Oh well, helped a few people out anyway so I felt kinda good for it but I'm subsequently shattered today.

Re: The new improved fitness thread
Just over 7.5 miles on the Basingstoke half course last night, and the first time up the big hill.
Found out of I just set a pace, focus on my breathing, and don't look at my watch I can seriously move. Did the first 3/4 of a mile on the hill at a sub 8min/mile pace

Re: The new improved fitness thread
A fortnight ago I went to bed with all intentions of smashing the gym...
Still haven't.
I've had real motivation issues getting out of bed and it's been far too easy to turn the alarm off and go back to sleep. The hot weather hasn't helped.
These last few days I've felt recharged though, so it's back into it tomorrow, starting the week off with shoulders.

Re: The new improved fitness thread
I feel your pain. As expected, no longer having a gym on my doorstep means it's much easier to find an excuse not to go. Last week I had the taekwondo grading to practice for. I need to get back into the habit.

Re: The new improved fitness thread
I attempted (and failed) a new PB yesterday on squats of 180kg. I thought I had it then when I started to lift from the bottom of the squat I felt a twinge in my knee and aborted - too much too soon

Re: The new improved fitness thread
No strapping, it wasn't much of a twinge - just enough to let me know it was too much.
Little sore today but to be expected, I otherwise feel good

Tonight was a 5.5 mile trail run on one of my favorite routes. Lovely summers evening for a trot round the fields.

Managed to get out of bed, so shoulders it was...
Hard work, but definitely worth it. Leg day tomorrow, fingers crossed for some extra motivation.
