I can manage about 1km on the treadmill before I get so bored I'm a danger to myself. I certainly can't be doing running outside.

It's always been one of my go tos, tbh. I ran loads as a youth and it's stuck with me.

I need about a ton of strapping across my right knee and left ankle - astronauts have gone into space with less engineering than I wear to jog - but it works and it's great for keeping the stamina up. I have to be really careful, but I only go once or twice a week, so it's all good.

Gym was very good this evening (chest)... My usual 5 minute cross-trainer warm up and then I moved up to 2x 20kg plates for chest press (i really cannot rate this exercise enough! Superset with 16kg dumbell flyes (everything incline). I then did 5x12 28kg dumbell press and cables.

The 30 minutes swim was a very nice wind down too. According to MyFitnessPal I've consumed 2000 calories but burned off 450 calories so I'm under for my daily target. Don't know what to have as a snack later

Shoulders this morning.

I think I need to make my sessions longer. Or do 2 sessions in a day.

"Recovery" run last night, 10k at an easy pace. Felt like I'd put on two lumps of concrete rather than trainers.

Dawned on me today why Sundays race number was familiar...

10 mile training run this morning. Crap run, couldn't settle into a pace and couldn't get my breathing sorted. But with some group spirit I made it to the end.

Legs yesterday.. got a new PB (145kg for 2 reps). I felt absolutely $hagged for the rest of the day though so had to keep eating until I felt better - suprisingly my legs feel pretty great today

Squats.. I started at 70kg until failure then keep adding weight. So I did 70, 110, 130, 135, 140, 145 - all until failure. I managed 5 at 140kg.

I did lots more after that and walking down 2 flights of stairs was not fun afterwards - I should have taken the lift.

I very rarely do heavy weights, tbh.

But (for example) with my bench presses tonight, there'll be two lots of 40 rep stepped sets, so 80 in total.

TBH I like lifting heavy dont know why but I always have,I think its good to mix it up so your body gets a shock now and again and you dont get bored

I like heavy with low reps but if I'm trying to cut my body fat I find it beneficial to go for 12 reps as heavy as I can with minimal rest between sets, that has you sweating like a priest in a playground!

I like deadlifts, there's something satisfying about grabbing a load of weight and picking it up.

My fubarred shoulder means I can't do chest press, it puts too much pressure on it and causes it to flare up. Incline or decline barbell chest press isn't too bad but I can't press much as the shoulder is weak. 50kg is about my limit. But there are loads of other chest exercises to do so I'm not really bothered.

My personal favourite is shoulders.. I just love it. You can see individual muscles tense as you work out and the drive home is always painful haha.

I've pretty much gone full circle, I used to love back most but now I hate it..

My shoulders are pretty poor and the right burns out very quickly. I'm always wary of it flaring up so I don't do too much shoulder work.

Back is ace. I trained with my old PT instructor on Friday and he gave me a couple of good back exercises where you hold the weight to tire the muscles then carrying on with your reps.
