"Excuse me sir, where's your number plate then.."

Post by Cornish »

First off, awesome work on the new site guys and girls. (allhail)

So I managed to use the bike for a meeting in London Waterloo the other day, cracking ride in, fellow bikers happily nodding away, cars moving out of the way and the sun shinning. Lush!

Whilst riding back by Battersea Power Station (no jokes Monty) I undertake a police dog van in the bus lane, all legal like and pull up to the lights. I then get a "excise me sir but where's your number plate then?" from a very scary looking policeman.

Clearly this was news to me and as I explained it was there when I parked officer to which he said "looks like someone's had that away mate..." I then asked if I was ok to ride still "yeah mate that's fine, just take it easy as we could hear you coming from way back, must be that nice exhaust eh.." Then off they went.

What can you say, London police aren't all bad and the sun really does cheer everyone up!! Thanks Mr Scary Policemen you made me day.

I've found the N Wales police aren't as bas as made out, we did a rideout around N Wales a few yrs ago and one of the lads came off and bust his collar bone, the police and ambulance arrived at the same time and while the ambulance crew were checking my mate out they came and had a look at the bikes, 6 SV650's with not a baffle in sight, they told us if we were going to run with no baffles don't make prats of ourselves and no one would bother us, even more remarkable cos this was when that idiot brunsom was in charge of the N Wales police and had a vendetta against bikers

Have you reported it to the Police? Just to be on the safe side in case the plate is being used on another bike.

I'd sell it quick and get another one. Anyway it must be at least 6 months now!

Monty, you're alive then fella and just in time to make me lol. :-).

Well you might not be too far off with that remark mate as this fecking house extension is starting to go way over budget! So I may well have to get a smaller/cheaper bike for a few months...:-(

Cornish would defo report to police mate. If any scourts have nicked it and they are going around nicking fuel or thieving from shops then at least you've covered yourself and the police have it on file of when it happened. It covers your arse at least I would say if you have a crime reference number
