Pondering whether to go jogging around the track, or to go jogging to the kitchen to cook some breakfast......the kitchen has taken an early lead so far.

Re: What are you doing today ??
Been a crazy 24 hrs.
Sydney got hit by a storm the worse we've had in 30 years. So many areas have been devestated.
I spent 2 hours yesterday on the roof trying to stop a leak around my chimney to no benefit. About 20 L worth of water collected in pots over 6 hours. Set my alarm for 2 hrs to empty but luckily the rain stopped while I was asleep and there was only a few litres to empty.
So up on the roof resealing the be-Jesus out of th flue. Meanwhile the bridge need to cross to get into civilization was threatened to close due to flooding so the kids school closed. Had to get them to the ex's and continue with repairs. Bridge close is now expected at 9 pm and I'm off to the airport to fly to work tomorrow do just waiting in Jess to come pick me up and stay at hers tonight (she's in the other side of the river) so I can get there tomorrow!

Saying a sad goodbye to Kwacky and Duke as they start the return leg to Blighty this morning. A fabulous few days riding, cake, banter and laughs. Safe journey back lads.
They are off to Le Mans via the back roads today and the sun has got its hat on - not jealous at all

It was crap, you would have hated it. Empty twisty roads, clear skies, picturesque villages and a cake stop or two.

Re: What are you doing today ??
Thanks all, was a decent little ceremony.
But it's a warm day today. I walked to the place with my missus in tow. We were placed into a room with no air conditioning and, for some reason unbeknown to anyone, the friggin radiators were on!!!
I was one sweaty airman!
Either that or I'm just a boring bastard!

Yep, 15 years of flying under the radar, so to speak.kiwikrasher wrote:We used to call it the "not getting caught long gong"

Re: What are you doing today ??
Been to Loro Parque today. Took the scenic route there over Mt Teide 3710 metres at the top.
Unfortunately we were in a hire car but two travel sick children and a nervous wreck of a wife late we arrived with screaming hot tyres and an engine which may have said hello to the REV LIMITER a couple of times, haha
All joking aside Tenerife has some brillant biking roads. Awesomely twisty and most are race track quality asphalt

Re: What are you doing today ??
Last night I was setting up my son's mobile phone. My wife bought him a cheap Windows phone as he's now riding to and from school on his brand new BMX. So that's both kids with phones .

Any reasons why she did? Bit young i think, but the peer pressure is high i'd imagine.Kwacky wrote:Last night I was setting up my son's mobile phone. My wife bought him a cheap Windows phone as he's now riding to and from school on his brand new BMX. So that's both kids with phones .

Re: What are you doing today ??
She was going to get him a sim for one of our old phones so he could call us if he needed to when he's going to and from school. It turned out to be the same price to get a new contract and phone for him.
I think Sam was also getting pee'd off with Alex taking her phone to use for various things, like text and call his mates as they've all got phones.
Kids today don't see phone ownership and use the same way we do.

Re: What are you doing today ??
Thats a very valid point I think, and something I hadn't considered. We grew up in an age where they didn't exist and it wasn't an option (but 'tapping" a public phone was a desired skill ) I was quite intimidated by my first mobile phone at the age of about 25, yet these days most pre-schoolers know their way around a smart phone, tablet etc.Kwacky wrote:

Can I ask what age your boy is? Mine is turning 10 this year and I do worry about the situation of them getting off the bus and for some reason I haven't made it home in time. The whole single parenting thing has brought up a lot of scenarios I hadn't factored on.
