Only used one to get an indication of price. I've never sold anything to them.

Re: We buy any car.com
We got as far as taking a car to the appointment with the geezer...basically, they knock the price down big style, suck air between their teeth, put you under pressure and generally use all their might to steal the car from you for a crap price...oh and they take the car and pay you later!!! We walked out and sold privately
Sorry I missed church, I was busy practicing witchcraft!

Re: We buy any car.com
Yeah Im kinda wondering what to do, tbh having the GPZ and trying to sort out a 79 Z650 is costing me bit of cash and aggro and I could do with letting something go even if it does mean taking a bit of a hit
Re: We buy any car.com
Looked into selling a car with them once, but did a bit of reading up on the net about them and like others have said - they give you a good price at first, but by the time they see it and check the car over, they will have knocked the first quote down by half if your lucky.
Also as moonie said, you then don't get the money - you have to wait untill they have sold the car.
I'd give it the best clean its ever had and try selling it yourself....

Stew I'd try the norm first, bargain pages, gum tree and pre loved as it won't cost you to advertise.
I get knocked down but i get up again.

Don't use them. A old work buddy went to work for them and he said their job was to get the cars for as cheap as possible (he got high end Cars mainly) but he felt terrible because he knew the cars where worth alot more privately he felt like a rip off merchant.
Clean it and sell privately more likely to get a little more than what your atcually expecting

I used them once and it went through as easy as wink. As long as you show every imperfection. They wait until the direct transfer goes into your bank and the whole deal was over in less than an hour.
He didn't even try and knock the price down.
I think you know you would get more by selling privately but it can be a useful alternative

We've used them once before.
Yeah, you get a bit less than you could selling privately, but it does take away a lot of hassle. No tyre kickers, no test pilots, no potential buyers umming and ahhing and telling you they'll get back to you.
When we sold our Fiesta they offered us a price which was far too low, we told them what we wanted, ended up with a figure between the two which, given that we'd lost the service book, wasn't actully too bad.
I guess there are horror stories however you sell you car. For us it wasn't too bad, and it was a lot less hassle than the last car we sold via Auto Trader. 3 months we were waiting, despite getting sucked in by an agent's bullplop about guaranteeing a sale within a week for a modest fee!
